Sewing Machine Operator

Summary

The Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for stitching, assembling, and finishing fabric, components using industrial sewing machines. This role requires speed, manual dexterity, attention to detail, and strict adherence to quality and safety standards to meet daily output quotas.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Operate various single-needle, multi-needle, overlock, and specialized industrial sewing machines to join, reinforce, or decorate materials.

• Assembly & Stitching: Read job instructions, specs, and pattern markers to correctly align, position, and sew cut fabric pieces into finished goods.

• Quality Control: Inspect incoming materials for defects and continuously check stitched products for seam alignment, tension accuracy, and uniform thread color.

• Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily routine maintenance, including threading machines, replacing needles, adjusting tension, and oiling moving parts.

• Workplace Safety: Adhere to all facility safety guidelines, keep workstation organized and clear of debris, and report equipment malfunctions immediately.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

> High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

Experience

>1+ years operating industrial sewing equipment in a

manufacturing environment

Technical Skills

> Knowledge of fabric handling, thread types, stitch

patterns, and needle selection

Physical Demands

> Ability to sit for extended periods, maintain fine manual

dexterity, and lift up to 25 lbs

Soft Skills

> Strong eye for detail, reliable attendance, and ability to

work in a fast-paced team environment
