Job Description

Production Engineer – Fabrication, Costing & QC (Ettle Industrial)

Location: Sachin, Surat (On-site at Ettle Workshop)

Experiences: 1 to 3 years

Type: Full-time

Industry: Industrial Furniture / Stainless Steel Fabrication / Modular Systems

Salary: Up to ₹30,000 per month (based on execution capability & responsibility)

Position Title: Production Engineer

Department: Production & Fabrication

Location: Ettle Workshop, Surat

Type: Full-time / On-site

Objective

Ensure smooth, accurate, and timely execution of all Ettle Industrial production—from costing to fabrication, assembly, finishing, and quality control—while gradually building proficiency in engineering software for documentation.

This role is hands-on, fabrication-first, and central to scaling Ettle Industrial’s stainless-steel and modular furniture systems.

Scope of Work:

1. Production Execution (Primary Responsibility)

Read and interpret technical drawings accurately and coordinate with the design team for clarifications, updates, and execution alignment.

Oversee daily fabrication workflow for SS/MS products, modular workstation systems, railings, tables, benches, utility structures, and project-based builds.

Interpret drawings and guide welders, fitters, grinders, bending operators, and polishing teams.

Ensure correct sequence of operations: cutting → bending → welding → grinding → assembly → finishing → QC.

Verify accuracy during fabrication (angles, hole alignment, pipe straightness, tolerances, welding quality).

Ensure correct jigs, fixtures, and fitments are used during builds.

Validate stone/wood/PC integration when applicable for Industrial products.

2. Costing & Material Planning

Prepare accurate costing sheets for upcoming orders and prototypes.

Estimate fabrication hours, finishing time, hardware requirements, and consumables.

Track live SS304/MS/aluminum market prices.

Plan RM consumption for pipes, sheets, plates, laser-cut parts.

Raise internal RM requirement notes for stores; coordinate timely procurement.

Identify value engineering opportunities without compromising structural intent.

3. Quality Control & Standards

Develop and execute QC checklists per product family.

Inspect incoming raw materials for thickness, straightness, defects.

Inspect welds (strength, uniformity, penetration), bends (radius accuracy), and assemblies (squareness, alignments).

Check final dimensions before sending to finishing.

Verify post-finish quality: PVD/powder coating quality, polishing uniformity, stone/wood installation.

Approve final pieces before dispatch.

Maintain a zero-error culture on the floor.

4. Floor Coordination & Troubleshooting

Act as the single-point coordinator between design, fabrication floor, and finishing.

Troubleshoot shop-floor problems (mismatched fits, tolerance issues, inaccuracies, fixture problems).

Provide real-time solutions to ensure production continuity.

Validate first-piece approval before batch production.

Maintain discipline, safety, and workflow cleanliness.

5. Documentation (To Be Trained & Developed Over Time)

(Light expectations initially; to be strengthened over 3–6 months)

Maintain BOMs, fabrication notes, revision logs, and cutting plans.

Translate design intent into floor-readable documentation.

Slowly build skill in SolidWorks/Rhino/AutoCAD for internal accuracy.

6. Logistics & Dispatch Management (Will recieve help from other departments also)

Oversee packaging, loading/unloading, and safe dispatch.

Ensure correct labeling, batching, and packing for client sites.

Coordinate with logistics teams for delivery timelines, installation prep, and material protection.

7. Vendor & External Coordination

Manage outsourced services (PVD, powder coating, laser cutting, bending, waterjet if needed).

Evaluate vendor quotations and quality.

Ensure timely follow-ups to maintain project timelines.

8. Systems, SOPs & Continuous Improvement

Create repeatable processes for industrial product families (tables, benches, workstation modules, railings, cabinets).

Develop jigs/fixtures for repeat production accuracy.

Maintain production logs, daily reports, manpower allocation.

Assist in building Ettle Industrial’s internal knowledge base.

Skill & Personality Fit

Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical/Production Engineering preferred.

Strong hands-on experience with SS/MS fabrication (welding, assembly, bending basics).

Physically present on the floor most of the day; highly execution-driven.

Willingness to learn CAD and engineering software over time.

Understanding of manufacturing tolerances, jig logic, structural reasoning.

Strong ownership, discipline, and communication.

Ability to work under deadlines with precision.

Impact of This Role

This position ensures that every Ettle Industrial product—whether a railing system, workstation module, SS utility furniture, or custom industrial installation—is produced:

accurately,

on time,

cost-controlled, and

with consistent quality.

It directly affects Ettle Industrial’s reliability, scale, and ability to deliver high-volume and high-precision work.
