Purchase Engineer

Job Description

• Manage procurement and project expediting for industrial valve projects.
• Coordinate with vendors, Engineering, Production, Quality and Stores.
• Ensure timely procurement, documentation and material delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue vendor RFQs.
• Evaluate technical and commercial quotations.
• Negotiate price, delivery and payment terms.
• Release and monitor Purchase Orders.
• Follow up for raw materials, forgings, castings, machining, coatings and bought-out items.
• Track vendor delivery against project schedule.
• Coordinate TPI, inspection and material clearance.
• Follow up for MTC, inspection and quality documents.
• Maintain procurement/project status reports.
• Identify delays and take corrective action.
• Coordinate vendor technical clarifications with Engineering.
• Ensure material and documentation compliance with project requirements.

Qualification & Experience

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–7 years’ experience in valves, oil & gas, EPC or engineering manufacturing.
• Good knowledge of engineering materials, drawings, BOM and specifications.
• Strong vendor follow-up, negotiation and Excel skills.
