Caretaker

We are looking for a responsible, trustworthy and well-mannered Caretaker to manage the day-to-day operations of our BnB property in Ujjain. The caretaker will be the primary on-site point of contact for guests and will ensure that the property is clean, well-maintained and guest-ready at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Management

• Welcome guests and assist with check-in and check-out.
• Handle guest queries, requests and basic complaints professionally.
• Assist guests with information regarding Mahakaleshwar Temple, local attractions, transportation, restaurants, etc.
• Maintain good communication with guests through phone/WhatsApp.
• Ensure guests have a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Property Management

• Ensure the property is clean, presentable and ready before every guest check-in.
• Regularly inspect rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, common areas and outdoor areas.
• Check lights, ACs, geysers, plumbing, appliances, locks and other facilities.
• Immediately report any maintenance issue or damage.
• Coordinate with plumbers, electricians, technicians and other service providers when required.
• Ensure proper security of the property.

Housekeeping & Inventory

• Supervise housekeeping and cleaning activities.
• Ensure bedsheets, towels and other linen are clean and available.
• Maintain inventory of toiletries, cleaning supplies, water bottles and other guest essentials.
• Keep track of consumables and inform the owner before stocks run low.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of property items.

Bookings & Daily Operations

• Coordinate with the owner regarding guest arrivals and departures.
• Maintain a record of check-ins, check-outs and occupancy.
• Assist in coordinating bookings received through Airbnb, Booking.com, direct bookings, etc.
• Take photographs/videos of any damage or maintenance issue when required.
• Maintain basic daily records of expenses and purchases.

Emergency & Other Duties

• Be available on-site/on-call for urgent guest requirements.
• Handle minor emergencies responsibly and immediately inform the owner.
• Coordinate with local authorities or emergency services if required.
• Ensure house rules are followed by guests.
• Perform other reasonable duties related to the smooth operation of the BnB.

Candidate Requirements

• Honest, reliable and responsible.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Polite and guest-friendly attitude.
• Basic knowledge of smartphones, WhatsApp and Google Maps.
• Ability to coordinate with local vendors and service providers.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and general property maintenance is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a hotel, homestay, BnB, guest house or property management will be preferred.
• Knowledge of Hindi is essential; basic English is preferred.
• Must be comfortable working flexible hours depending on guest check-ins/check-outs.
• Valid driving licence would be an added advantage.
