Job Description
AutoCAD Designer – ELV & IBMS Systems
We are looking for an AutoCAD Designer with 1–3 years of experience in designing and preparing drawings for ELV and IBMS systems. The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed engineering drawings, layouts, schematics, cable routing, and as-built drawings as per project requirements and applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings for ELV and IBMS projects.
Develop system layouts, schematic diagrams, floor plans, equipment layouts, and cable routing drawings.
Prepare drawings for systems such as:
Fire Alarm & Detection Systems
CCTV & Video Surveillance
Access Control
Public Address / Voice Evacuation
BMS / IBMS
Structured Cabling & Data Networking
Intercom Systems
SMATV / other ELV systems
Prepare single-line diagrams (SLD), block diagrams, riser diagrams, termination drawings, and wiring diagrams.
Prepare device layouts and coordinate equipment locations with architectural, electrical, HVAC, and other services.
Develop cable tray, conduit, and cable routing layouts.
Prepare shop drawings, installation drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings.
Update drawings based on site conditions, consultant comments, and project revisions.
Incorporate engineering changes and maintain proper drawing revision control.
Coordinate with project engineers, site teams, consultants, and other design disciplines.
Assist in preparing BOQ, cable schedules, device schedules, panel schedules, and material take-offs.
Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, approved shop drawings, and applicable standards.
Support the project team during technical discussions and drawing approvals.
Maintain proper documentation of drawings and project design files.
Required Skills
Good working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
Understanding of ELV system drawings and basic engineering concepts.
Ability to read and understand architectural, electrical, HVAC, and MEP drawings.
Knowledge of ELV/IBMS system layouts, cable routing, and equipment connectivity.
Good understanding of layers, blocks, XREF, dimensions, annotations, and drawing standards.
Ability to prepare professional and accurate engineering drawings.
Good coordination and communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as with a project/design team.
Good attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines.
Preferred Experience
Experience in preparing drawings for Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, PA/PAGA, BMS/IBMS, Structured Cabling, and other ELV systems will be an advantage.
Experience with Honeywell or other major ELV/BMS systems will be preferred.
