Engineering Project Manager

Directs daily site layout, alignment, and bulk excavation fronts in strict compliance with approved bar charts and schedules.  

Coordinates with survey engineers and site civil engineers to track chainage, borrow-to-site turnaround, and cross-sectional earthwork volume take-offs.  

Enforces earthwork specifications, ensuring subgrade, embankment, and cut-and-fill operations align with engineering standards.

Oversees the sequential laying and compaction of Granular Sub-Base (GSB), Wet Mix Macadam (WMM), asphalt mix, and shoulder execution.  

Enforces departmental engineering standards and quality compliance, including compaction density targets and regular laboratory verification.  

 Directs concrete road and structure fronts using the pour card system, ensuring adherence to 7-day and 28-day curing intervals and mandatory cube testing.

Formulates and releases daily material indents by 08:00 PM for the following day’s fronts (aggregates, cement, sand, bitumen, admixtures, and formwork) to prevent project delays.  

Interfaces directly with the Concrete Batching Plant and Hot Mix Bitumen Plant (HMP) to synchronize production with site demand:  

Issues asphalt and concrete indent slips based on active chainages and pour cards.  

Cross-verifies delivery tipper counts and transit mixer volumes directly against physical site placement.  

Audits plant burner fuel (diesel/furnace oil) per metric ton of asphalt produced and generator/mixer diesel consumption per cubic meter of batched concrete. 

Conducts mandatory daily and weekly fuel reconciliations alongside the Mechanical (P&M) In-Charge, matching bulk High-Speed Diesel (HSD) drawdowns against equipment hour meters and ground outputs.  

Reviews site equipment metrics across active fronts (excavator hour-to-quantity ratios, tipper trip sheets, and grader/compactor surface coverage hours) before signing off on fuel consumption sheets for Finance.  

Oversees bulk fuel tank security, validating storekeeper dip logs against daily 07:00 AM and 06:30 PM physical dipstick inspections. 

Maintains custodial oversight of bulk inventory (cement, rebar, fuel) to prevent unaccounted shrinkage.  

Manages the site scrap yard for cut-pieces, damaged shuttering plates, binding wire, and bent rebar; coordinates with Finance for weighbridge certification and auction cash realization.  

Directs labor workforce deployment, handles local community or labor relations, enforces mandatory PPE across all fronts, and conducts weekly safety inspections.
