Overview

The Senior Data Analytics Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data systems, analytics pipelines, and business intelligence solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong analytical skills to transform complex data into reliable, actionable insights. The engineer collaborates with data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure data quality, optimize performance, and enable advanced analytical outcomes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows to support analytics and reporting.
• Build and optimize data models, data marts, and analytical datasets for high‑performance consumption.
• Maintain and improve data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with analytics teams to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
• Implement best practices for data quality, metadata management, lineage, governance, and validation.
• Develop and manage automated monitoring and alerting for data systems.
• Collaborate on the selection and integration of data technologies and tools.
• Drive improvements in data architecture, including cloud modernization, performance tuning, and automation.
• Contribute to coding standards, documentation, and engineering practices within the data ecosystem.
• Mentor junior engineers and support cross‑functional technical development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing and analytics engineering.
• Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, or Synapse.
• Expertise in building data pipelines using tools such as Airflow, dbt, Azure Data Factory, or similar orchestration frameworks.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and schema design.
• Experience with cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and scalable distributed systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, version control, and automated testing in data environments.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
• Strong communication skills for working with both technical and non‑technical partners.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects and deliver high-quality technical outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with machine learning feature engineering or supporting ML pipelines.
• Knowledge of streaming data frameworks such as Kafka or Kinesis.
• Background in dashboard and BI tool integration (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
• Exposure to data governance, privacy, and compliance frameworks.
• Prior experience mentoring or leading technical teams.
