Tax Analyst

Join our team as an Indirect Tax Analyst! You'll be at the forefront of preparing and filing U.S. sales and use tax documents, while also diving into various facets of the Indirect Tax process. Your role will include assisting with audits, business license filings, and exemption certificate reviews. You'll collaborate closely with vendor payments, handle state registrations, resolve notices, and gather information requests. Additionally, you'll help manage departmental tasks like opening notices, processing invoices, and preparing budgets. Be a key player in ensuring our tax department's compliance and success!

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments…

• College degree, preferred in Accounting, Business or Finance

• Solid Word, Excel, PowerPoint, spreadsheet and computer knowledge

• (0-2) Years experience in Indirect Tax Compliances.

What will you be doing in this role?...

• Export and review the sales/use tax feed reports and load them onto our 3rd party vendors’ compliance software.

• Review the fixed asset register and send the file annually to our 3rd party vendor for personal property tax compliance.

• Maintain the Indirect Tax Calendar along with tracking the monthly return payments.

• Review and approve our customers exemption certificates using the OneSource Determination & Vertex Certificate Manager software.

• Create and maintain an exemption certificate matrix and training document.

• Assist the Tax Manager with gathering the necessary documentation for Indirect Tax Audits

• Work with Treasury/Accounts Payable to manage check requests and electronic fund transfers to taxing authorities

• Work with the Tax Manager to create nexus studies for our filing entities to ensure we are registered properly.

• Open and decipher incoming notices from various tax authorities

• Assist in budgeting, tracking invoices, and working with external consultants on the same

• Prepare monthly reconciliations of the tax accounts which will require analysis to certify balances in the accounts.

About The Team

The Global Tax Team is comprised of over 40 tax professionals worldwide. As a member of the Global Indirect Tax Team, you will collaborate with approximately 10-15 colleagues to fulfil the company’s tax reporting and compliance requirements. This role provides the opportunity to work with tax leadership and other departments within Clarivate, contributing to strategic initiatives and ensuring compliance with U.S. tax regulations.

Hours of Work

Full Time, EST time zone

This is a hybrid role working 2-3 days a week in one of our local office locations
