Senior Analyst Supply Chain Development

The Senior Analyst, Supply Chain Development (SCD), plays a critical role in supporting Maersk's commercial growth agenda by identifying, quantifying, and designing innovative supply chain solutions for strategic customers. Working closely with Regional SCD Managers, Account Teams, Product Teams, and Customers, the role combines deep supply chain expertise, advanced analytics, and consultative problem-solving to develop compelling value propositions that unlock customer value and drive profitable growth for Maersk. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Support Regional SCD teams in identifying customer growth opportunities and developing compelling Maersk logistics solutions in collaboration with cross-functional sales pursuit teams. 

What you bring to this role 

Technical & Analytical Execution 

• Lead complex analytical workstreams independently, leveraging customer data to develop analytical models, supply chain digital twins, and scenario-based simulations supporting solution evaluation and optimization. 

• Lead complex supply chain analyses and define the appropriate analytical approach, including Network optimization, Asset utilization, Transportation modelling, Inventory modelling & optimization, and warehouse assessments. 

• Analyze large and complex datasets to uncover trends, risks, inefficiencies, and actionable business insights and translate them into clear recommendations for customer and business decisions. 

• Leverage AI capabilities, industry research, and emerging technologies to accelerate analysis, develop scenarios, and shape differentiated customer-specific supply chain recommendations. 

• Identify and develop new analytical methodologies, value propositions, and opportunities by leveraging AI and emerging technologies. 

• Utilize analytical tools such as Power BI, Excel, SQL, Python, AIMMS, and similar platforms to solve complex supply chain challenges and provide guidance on the appropriate analytical tools and methodologies. 

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of supply chain digital twins and simulation-based modelling and apply these methodologies to complex customer challenges. 

• Translate analytical findings into compelling executive presentations, dashboards, visualizations, and customer-centric recommendations that influence business and commercial decisions. 

Commercial Opportunity Development 

• Own the analytical and solution development for selected customer opportunities, partnering with Regional SCD, Sales, Product, and other cross-functional teams to develop compelling Maersk logistics solutions. 

• Develop insight-led value propositions that address customer pain points and deliver quantifiable business outcomes. including clear linkage to commercial and revenue opportunities. 

• Engage directly with customers through discovery workshops, solution discussions, and business case presentations, acting as a trusted advisor on supply chain solutions and recommendations. 

• Apply a holistic understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations to shape and design integrated customer solutions and strategic recommendations. 

• Demonstrate strong commercial acumen by connecting analytical insights and solution recommendations to customer value, commercial outcomes, and Maersk revenue opportunities. 

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration 

• Partner with Regional SCD, Product, Operations, and Sales teams to shape and drive customer solutions, influencing stakeholders across functions without direct authority. 

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders through proactive communication and expectation management acting as a trusted advisor to customers and senior stakeholders. 

• Act as a bridge between regional commercial and analytical teams to ensure effective translation of customer requirements into solution designs. 

• Coach, mentor, and guide Analysts during sales pursuits and support the onboarding and development of new team members. 

• Act as a subject matter expert by defining and sharing best practices, coaching team members, and driving continuous improvement and standardization across projects. 

• Take end-to-end ownership of selected customer engagements, from problem definition and analytical approach through solution development, recommendation, and delivery. 

Desired Skills: 

• Education & Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Science or any other similar discipline 

• Work experience of 5+ years in Logistics & Supply Chain. Relevant customer facing experience of 4+ years in supply chain consulting is mandatory. 

• Technical & Analytical Capabilities 

• Experience working with supply chain analysis software like Coupa/Llamasoft Supply Chain Guru, AIMMS, Kinaxis, etc. 

• Strong quantitative, research, data analytics, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently define analytical approaches for complex supply chain challenges. 

• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Publisher) 

• Knowledge of R/Python/Tableau is preferred 

• Communication, Stakeholder & Professional Skills 

• Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders without authority. 

• Ability to build trusted relationships and act as a credible advisor to customers and senior stakeholders. 

• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities, take ownership of deliverables, and make recommendations with limited supervision.
