Manager, Quality Assurance
Role Summary
Lead the site Quality Assurance and Quality Control function to ensure product conformity, regulatory compliance, and effective implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS). The role oversees quality planning, inspection, audits, supplier quality, product release, team capability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead QA/QC activities across incoming, in-process, final inspection, and supplier quality.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, API Monogram, PED/CE Marking, ATEX, customer, and statutory requirements.
- Act as Management Representative for the QMS and coordinate with customers, certification bodies, notified bodies, and third-party inspectors.
- Authorize release of API-monogrammed products and ensure compliance with applicable API standards, customer specifications, inspection plans, and work instructions.
- Manage audits, nonconformities, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, risk assessments, and Management of Change activities.
- Ensure appropriate inspection resources, product traceability, document control, testing, validation, and record retention.
- Drive supplier quality improvement through audits, site visits, training, and quality-at-source practices.
- Monitor quality KPIs and lead Lean, continuous-improvement, and customer-satisfaction initiatives.
- Recruit, coach, train, and develop Quality team members while maintaining a strong safety culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment.
- ASNT Level II or III certification in relevant NDT methods.
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and Green Belt certification.
- Valid visual acuity certification for inspection activities.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of valve manufacturing, testing, welding, inspection, metrology, and materials.
- Working knowledge of API, ASTM, ISO, ASME, NACE, ANSI, CE, ATEX, BS, EN, and DIN standards.
- Expertise in QMS, supplier quality, CAPA, root-cause analysis, audit management, and continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership, communication, planning, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, OEPDMS, Omni Docs, MII, and ISO Quest.
