POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager - Indirect Procurement to lead sourcing and procurement activities across multiple indirect spend categories including MRO, Real Estate, Facility Management, Insurance, Professional Services, HR Services, Legal Services, Marketing, Logistics, and other indirect categories. The incumbent will be responsible for developing category strategies, supplier management, commercial negotiations, contract management, cost optimization, and stakeholder engagement across business functions.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in indirect procurement, logistics sourcing, manpower services procurement, facility setup projects, and ERP-driven procurement processes. The role requires a highly collaborative professional who can influence stakeholders, drive sourcing excellence, and deliver measurable business value.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage procurement activities across assigned indirect spend categories. 
• Lead sourcing, RFQ/RFP processes, supplier evaluation, and commercial negotiations. 
• Manage contracts, vendor performance, and supplier relationships. 
• Support procurement requirements for logistics, facility setup, HR, and professional services. 
• Drive cost optimization, value creation, and annual savings targets. 
• Improve payment terms, commercial conditions, and total cost of ownership (TCO). 
• Ensure timely closure of sourcing projects and procurement requests. 
• Collaborate with stakeholders to meet business requirements and maintain high stakeholder satisfaction. 
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contract governance, and spend controls. 
• Utilize ERP systems for procurement execution, reporting, and process improvements. 
• Drive procurement efficiency through cycle-time reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field. MBA/PG in Supply Chain or Materials Management preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 8-10+ years of experience in Indirect Procurement, with proven exposure to industry (engineering/manufacturing/critical infrastructure), managing procurement across pan-India locations.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong domain knowledge across indirect categories: Logistics, Real Estate/Facilities, HR services, and Admin.
• Proficiency in ERP/procurement systems (SAP/Ariba or similar) and MS Excel/PowerPoint.
• Excellent vendor negotiation, RFQ/RFP management, and contract management skills.
• Strong stakeholder management skills — ability to work with cross-functional, multi-location teams.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

 

Preferred Attributes

• Strong domain knowledge across indirect categories: Logistics, Real Estate/Facilities, HR services, and Admin.
• Proficiency in ERP/procurement systems (SAP/Ariba or similar) and MS Excel/PowerPoint.
• Excellent vendor negotiation, RFQ/RFP management, and contract management skills.
• Strong stakeholder management skills — ability to work with cross-functional, multi-location teams.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Key Requirements:

 

Extensive experience in managing Pan India indirect procurement.

Expertise in categories such as Real Estate & Facilities, HR Services, Administration, and Logistics.

Prior experience in engineering, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure industries.

Strong vendor negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Proficiency in ERP/procurement systems, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.

Proven track record of driving and executing cost-saving initiatives.
