Job Description
The Purchase Officeris responsible for timely and cost-effective procurement of construction materials, tools, equipment, consumables, safety items, and other site requirements from local suppliers and vendors. The role involves identifying reliable local sources, obtaining quotations, negotiating prices, placing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring that materials reach the construction site as per project requirements and specifications.
Key Skills Required :
- Knowledge of construction materials and local markets
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Knowledge of MS Excel, Word
- Ability to prepare Comparative Statements and Purchase Orders
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Knowledge of GST and basic commercial documentation
- Good knowledge of construction hardware, civil materials, electrical/plumbing items and consumables
- Ability to handle urgent requirements and work under pressure
- Strong follow-up and record-keeping skills
- Knowledge of local suppliers and market rates
