JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced Production Engineer having strong exposure in PEB and structural steel fabrication industry. The candidate shall be responsible for complete shop floor production management, fabrication planning, manpower handling, quality coordination and dispatch readiness of fabricated steel structures.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

◆ Planning and execution of daily fabrication activities as per production schedule.

◆ Understanding and interpretation of fabrication drawings, erection drawings, GA drawings, assembly drawings and bill of materials (BOM).

◆ Monitoring fabrication of Columns, Rafters, Crane Girders, Mezzanine Beams, Bracings, Staircases, Platforms, Canopies and Miscellaneous Steel Structures.

◆ Ensuring correct fit-up, alignment, dimensions and fabrication quality as per approved drawings.

◆ Managing fabrication activities including:

• Cutting

• Drilling

• Fit-up

• Welding

• Grinding

• Straightening

• Assembly

◆ Supervision of SAW, MIG/MAG and Arc Welding operations.

◆ Ensuring fabrication as per applicable standards and approved shop drawings.

◆ Monitoring machine productivity including:

• CNC Plasma Cutting Machine

• Beam Drilling Machine

• Radial Drill Machine

• Welding Stations

• Shot Blasting Equipment

• Painting Line

◆ Daily manpower planning and allocation of work among welders, fitters, gas cutters, grinders and helpers.

◆ Monitoring production targets and ensuring timely completion of fabrication schedules.

◆ Preparation of Daily Production Reports (DPR).

◆ Identification and removal of production bottlenecks.

◆ Ensuring proper part marking, traceability and project-wise segregation of material.

◆ Coordination with PPC department for production priorities and dispatch schedules.

◆ Coordination with Quality Department for stage-wise inspection and clearance.

◆ Coordination with Paint and Dispatch teams for smooth material flow.

◆ Monitoring fabrication consumptions and controlling material wastage.

◆ Ensuring minimum rejection, rework and production losses.

◆ Maintaining shop floor discipline, housekeeping and safety standards.

◆ Ensuring compliance with company production systems and procedures.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

◆ Sound knowledge of PEB and Structural Steel Fabrication.

◆ Ability to read and understand fabrication and erection drawings independently.

◆ Knowledge of built-up sections, plate girders and structural assemblies.

◆ Understanding of welding symbols and fabrication tolerances.

◆ Knowledge of steel grades, fabrication processes and quality requirements.

◆ Familiarity with production planning and workflow management.

◆ Strong leadership and manpower handling capabilities.

◆ Good communication and reporting skills.

◆ Proficiency in MS Excel and production documentation.

PREFERRED CANDIDATE

◆ Experience in PEB manufacturing companies.

◆ Experience handling fabrication shops producing 300–1000 MT per month.

◆ Strong knowledge of heavy structural steel fabrication.

◆ Ability to independently manage production activities and achieve dispatch commitments.

◆ Result-oriented and capable of working under target-driven environment.
