Job Description
- Sample Handling & Phlebotomy: Perform or assist with blood collection (phlebotomy) and sample receiving. Ensure precise labeling, documentation of critical barcoding, and maintaining strict cold chain compliance.Receive, label, sort, store, and transport biological, chemical, or industrial samples safely.
- Testing & Analysis: Perform routine diagnostic tests, chemical assays, or microscopic examinations following strict methodologies.
- Equipment Maintenance: Set up, clean, sterilize, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments (e.g., microscopes, centrifuges, automated analyzers).
- Data & Documentation: Record test results, maintain daily logs, update digital databases, and flag abnormal values for supervisors or physicians.
- Safety & Inventory: Follow biohazard and PPE safety protocols, dispose of waste properly, a
- Biomedical Waste & Safety Management: Strictly segregate and dispose of laboratory waste according to Indian Biomedical Waste Management (BMW) Rules (color-coded bins) and ensure regular autoclave indicator documentationnd monitor stock for reagents and supplies
- Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: BMLT (Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology) or DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology) from an institution recognized by State Paramedical Boards or Central Frameworks. Learn more about regional curriculum paths via the Haldia Institute of Health Sciences.
- Experience: 1–3 years of working in an NABL-accredited environment is highly preferred. Freshers with complete internship logs can also apply.
- Registration: Valid registration with the respective State Paramedical Council (where applicable).
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with handling semi/fully automated biochemistry analyzers, cell counters, and operating basic LIS/MS Excel programs
