Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Process Design & Optimization: Develop production processes, routing, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for tight-tolerance precision components.
CNC Programming: Create, prove out, and optimize multi-axis CNC programs (Milling/Turning) using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360).
Tooling & Fixturing: Design custom workholding fixtures, select optimal cutting tools, and establish efficient feeds and speeds to minimize cycle times and tool wear.
Quality & GD&T: Interpret complex engineering drawings and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T) to ensure parts consistently meet quality standards (ISO 9001 / AS9100).
Continuous Improvement: Lead root-cause analyses (8D, 5-Why) for machining defects,
Equipment Maintenance: Partner with maintenance teams to establish preventative maintenance protocols and troubleshoot mechanical/electronic CNC equipment issues.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in CAD/CAM software and G-code / M-code programming.
Hands-on experience with multi-axis CNC mills, lathes, or Swiss-style machines (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or Siemens controls).
Deep understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5), precision measurement equipment (CMM, micrometers, optical comparators), and metallurgy/cutting mechanics.
Problem Solving: Proven track record in scrap reduction, fixture design, and troubleshooting live production bottlenecks.
