The key responsibilities of the role include;

  • Perform daily payroll activities to ensure production of assigned payrolls including complex and year-end activities.
  • Strong knowledge of APAC payroll (end to end including India retiral administration) experiences within APAC in a vendor based model.
  • Good understanding of the statutory compliances of the region
  • Review adjustment requests to ensure compliance with corporate policies, employment tax & payroll laws.
  • Advise Manager of appropriate corrective action if an error occurs.
  • Record monthly payroll metrics
  • Respond to employee queries to explain pay and impact of policies, tax law and related changes.
  • Analyse existing policies & procedures to ensure compliance with tax & payroll-related laws and regulations.  
  • Recommend and implement modifications of existing payroll processes, in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Work with vendors and review payroll applications to ensure changes are correctly reflected on the payroll. 
  • Participate in system testing, payroll implementations, process improvements & payroll projects.
  • Liaise with finance on payroll.
  • Research and monitor regulatory and legislative changes impacting payroll areas of responsibility.
  • Performs vendor management activities to ensure adherence to corporate vendor management standards. 
  • Review team members work; including but not limited to review of payroll input and manual calculations. 
  • Acquire knowledge of other team members’ payroll activities and perform back up support.
  • Represent the department in meetings.

Skills/ Qualifications:

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • 5+  years of payroll experience dealing with multiple countries is desirable
  • Experience with payroll processing including; payroll production, reconciliation,
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task in a high paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvements
  • Knowledge of other areas of Human Resources & Finance, and their impact on payroll production activities
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Experience working in a multinational company is desirable.
