The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

At 3M, the Associate Specialist - Banking Operations is responsible for supporting day-to-day global banking operations and ensuring the effective management of bank accounts across multiple regions. This includes activities related to opening, closing, and modifying bank accounts, updating authorized signers, supporting Know Your Customer (KYC) requests from banks, and performing related bank administration tasks. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements, and the ability to provide high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders. The Banking Operations Associate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to streamline banking processes, improve operational efficiency, and support timely completion of banking-related requirements.

As an Associate Specialist - Banking Operations, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Managing bank account lifecycle activities, including account openings, closures, modifications, and maintenance.
• Coordinate signatory management, KYC documentation, mandates, and legal entity updates.
• Liaise with banking partners for account administration and service-related requests.
• Maintain banking documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
• Support periodic bank audits, compliance reviews, and control assessments and administer banking portals, treasury management systems (TMS), SWIFT connectivity, and payment platforms.
• Ensure compliance with treasury policies, internal controls, SOX requirements, and banking regulations.

 

 Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline, completed and verified prior to start.
• 5+ years of Treasury, Banking Operations, Cash Management or related experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy in handling banking data, documentation, and operational activities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective coordination with stakeholders, banks, and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, meet timelines, adapt to changing requirements, and support process improvements in banking operations.
