About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Appian Front-End Developer to lead the design and development of intuitive, scalable, and user-centric Appian applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Appian SAIL, interface design, Records, Reports, Dashboards, Appian Sites, and user experience best practices. 

This role will be responsible for driving front-end development standards, mentoring team members, optimizing application usability, and partnering with business and technology stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade workflow applications. 

Key Responsibilities

Appian Front-End Development

• Design, develop, and maintain complex Appian SAIL interfaces for enterprise applications.
• Architect responsive and reusable UI components using Appian best practices.
• Develop and enhance: 
  • SAIL Interfaces
  • Records and Record Types
  • Record Actions
  • Reports and Dashboards
  • Appian Sites
  • Tempo Applications
  • Expression Rules supporting user interfaces
• Build scalable and reusable design frameworks to improve development productivity.
• Drive UI consistency, usability, and accessibility across Appian applications.
• Perform front-end performance analysis and optimization.

Solution Design & User Experience

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and design intuitive user experiences.
• Translate business processes into engaging and efficient application interfaces.
• Recommend usability improvements and modern design approaches.
• Participate in solution design reviews and provide UI architecture recommendations.
• Establish front-end development standards and best practices.

Technical Leadership

• Mentor junior and mid-level Appian developers.
• Conduct design reviews and code reviews.
• Provide guidance on SAIL design patterns and reusable component development.
• Support estimation, planning, and technical decision-making.
• Work closely with architects, backend developers, and QA teams to ensure successful delivery.

Delivery & Collaboration

• Participate in Agile development activities.
• Support deployment validation and release activities.
• Ensure adherence to development standards and governance processes.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.

Required Technical Skills

Appian Expertise

• 6–8 years of software development experience with at least 5+ years of Appian development experience.
• Strong expertise in: 
  • Appian SAIL
  • Interface Design
  • Records & Record Types
  • Reports & Dashboards
  • Appian Sites
  • Tempo
  • Expression Rules
• Strong understanding of Appian application architecture and design principles. 

Front-End & UX Skills

• Expertise in designing highly usable and responsive enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of UX and accessibility principles.
• Experience building reusable UI design frameworks and component libraries.
• Ability to optimize front-end performance and user experience.

Good to Have

• Understanding of Process Models and workflow concepts.
• Experience consuming REST APIs within Appian applications.
• Exposure to Appian integrations and connected systems.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Appian Certified Developer or Appian Lead Developer certification preferred.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale Appian solutions.
