Job Description

Technical Product Owner

ROLE SUMMARY:

As the Technical Product Owner you will need to be technically strong and product-minded as you will be leading the development and evolution of our Content Sourcing Systems!

You will be responsible for defining platform capabilities that enable secure, scalable, and efficient collection of all non-realtime data for LSEG Data and Analytics.

You’ll be joining our Data Platforms Sourcing Engineering team as a Senior Technical Product Owner. This team’s products are the tools used by Content Operations and Data Scientists to find, retrieve, check, validate and transform all the data behind LSEG’s provision of financial market data to over 40,000 customers.

You will work with customers across LSEG to define new tools and capabilities that consolidate, modernise and grow D&A’s data collection.

By building trust with partners, managing expectations transparently, and ensuring alignment across teams, you will build solutions that provide measurable business value. Success will be measured not only by delivery, but also by adoption, customer satisfaction, and time-to-value.

Key responsibilities will include:

·       Defining, prioritizing, and delivering desirable, feasible, viable, and secure Sourcing products.

·       Creating the product vision/roadmap, managing the program backlog, identifying customer needs, and aligning ART efforts with business strategy.

·       Articulating the roadmap, value decisions and trade-offs, and priorities to customers across the organisation, including senior leaders and non-technical staff.

·       Drive PI planning to ensure teams are aligned on outcomes, dependencies and integration

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Platform Ownership: Own and evolve the product vision, roadmap, and strategy for Sourcing Engineering and its core capabilities, acting as the interface between the business stakeholders and development teams.

Product Backlog & Outcome: Own and communicate a product backlog of epics and features, leading trade-off decisions to balance customer needs, architectural integrity, and business value.

Capability Development: Define and deliver new platform features to support self-service teams to meet their goals of agility and flexibility in the creation and delivery of data products.

Strategic Road mapping: Collaborate with engineering, operations and data strategy leadership to shape the long-term platform strategy based on customer insights, emerging technologies, and enterprise needs.

Modern Product Practices: Together with System Architect and Release Train Engineer, lead large-scale agile delivery (SAFe), manage cross-team coordination, and ensure transparency across stakeholders.

Developer Enablement:  Champion design thinking and user journey clarity to ensure features address real user needs; attend demos and provide approval when deliverables meet business needs.

Agile Ceremony Cadence: Drive ART readiness for PI Planning by coordinating across interested parties including, Product Owners, technology, and Business Owners to align scope and objectives.

Cross ART Collaboration: Work with other ARTs to set product goals and roadmap; promote shared accountability across functions & streams and proactively calling out blockers & risks to ensure a “no-surprises” environment.

Innovation, Security & Compliance: Champion new technologies and processes, balanced against the need to maintain rigorous security controls, and compliance with applicable regulations and laws.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

·       15+ years of professional experience in product management, product ownership, and data or platform engineering or a related field.

·       Proven ability to communicate succinctly with functional teams, partners of all levels and leadership.

·       Product ownership experience working with Scrum teams, attending scrum ceremonies, owning the scrum team backlog.

·       Ability to elicit requirements from customers and articulate them as hierarchical user story format (Epics, Features, Stories).

·       Financial services experience; knowledge of data used within financial services.

·       Experience of Agile methodologies, ideally with a certification (SAFe or similar).

·       Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM education.

·       Preferred Skills

·       Hands-On JIRA and Confluence proficiency, familiarity with agile reporting dashboards.

·       Knowledge and experience with end-to-end processes of data collection, processing, and distribution, including understanding of data operations/content operations workflows.

·       Exposure to technology platforms, architecture principles, and enterprise integration patterns.

·       Experience with value stream mapping, process improvement, and user journey design.

·       Strong analytical approach with a focus on measurable outcomes and business value
