Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Material Management Executive to manage end-to-end material planning, procurement, inventory control, store operations, and supplier coordination in an automotive manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material availability, optimizing inventory, managing the complete Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle, coordinating outsourcing activities, and maintaining accurate inventory records to support production and customer delivery commitments.
- Roles & ResponsibilitiesMaterial Planning & Inventory ManagementPlan and maintain optimum inventory levels based on production schedules and customer demand.
- Monitor minimum, maximum, reorder, and safety stock levels to prevent shortages and excess inventory.
- Ensure uninterrupted material availability for production through effective planning.
- Track inventory ageing, slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete materials and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct periodic stock verification, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation.
- Store OperationsManage all store activities including material receipt, storage, preservation, identification, and issue.
- Ensure accurate material transactions in ERP and maintain complete inventory traceability.
- Implement and strictly follow FIFO/FEFO practices.
- Maintain proper bin locations, material identification, labeling, and storage conditions.
- Prepare and maintain Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), material issue slips, stock registers, and inventory documentation.
- Ensure compliance with 5S, warehouse safety, and material handling best practices.
- Procurement & Procure-to-Pay (P2P)Manage the complete Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process, from purchase requisition to supplier payment coordination.
- Generate purchase requisitions and purchase orders based on production requirements.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with the Accounts department for invoice verification and payment processing.
- Resolve purchase order, invoice, and GRN discrepancies with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
- Supplier & Customer CoordinationCoordinate with suppliers for on-time deliveries to meet production schedules.
- Obtain customer GRN confirmations and maintain dispatch acknowledgement records.
- Coordinate with logistics partners for inbound and outbound material movement.
- Maintain effective communication with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Outsourcing Material ManagementPlan and monitor materials sent for outsourcing and subcontracting operations.
- Maintain accurate records of materials issued to vendors and materials received back.
- Track vendor-wise WIP inventory and turnaround time.
- Ensure timely availability of outsourced components for production and dispatch.
- Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate ERP transactions and inventory records.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports covering inventory, procurement, supplier delivery performance, and stock status.
- Support internal, customer, and ISO/IATF audits by maintaining complete documentation and traceability.

- Preferred Candidate ProfileGraduate or Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- 1–5 years of experience in Material Management, Stores, Procurement, or Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the automotive, wiring harness, electrical, electronics, or engineering industry is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, inventory control, supplier coordination, and P2P processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across Production, Planning, Quality, Purchase, and Finance functions.
