JOB DESCRIPTION – PLC PANEL WIRING ELECTRICIAN

Job RoleWe are looking for a skilled PLC Panel Wiring Electrician for our machine manufacturing unit. The candidate will be responsible for electrical panel wiring, machine wiring, installation of electrical components, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting machine commissioning.

• Main ResponsibilitiesRead and understand electrical control panel drawings, wiring diagrams, and circuit diagrams.
• Carry out complete PLC control panel wiring as per electrical drawings.
• Mount and wire electrical components such as:
• 
  
• PLC
• HMI
• MCBs/MCCBs
• Contactors
• Relays
• SMPS
• Terminal blocks
• Timers
• Overload relays
• Servo drives
• VFDs
• Transformers
• Sensors and other control components.
• Perform proper panel component mounting, dressing, ferruling, crimping, and termination.
• Carry out control and power wiring using appropriate wire sizes and cable specifications.
• Perform machine electrical wiring from control panel to motors, sensors, switches, solenoid valves, limit switches, proximity sensors, encoders, etc.
• Do wiring for PLC I/O, HMI, VFD, servo drives, sensors, and control circuits.
• Ensure proper identification and numbering of wires, terminals, cables, and components as per drawings.
• Check continuity, insulation, earthing, and correctness of wiring before energizing the panel.
• Perform electrical testing and identify wiring faults during machine trials.
• Troubleshoot problems related to PLC inputs/outputs, sensors, relays, contactors, drives, motors, and control circuits.
• Assist PLC programmers during PLC I/O checking, machine testing, and commissioning.
• Assist in testing and commissioning of machines at the factory as well as at customer sites.
• Modify or rectify panel and machine wiring according to design changes or commissioning requirements.
• Maintain proper panel wiring standards, cable dressing, and housekeeping.
• Follow electrical safety procedures while working on panels and machines.
• Maintain tools, testing equipment, and electrical components properly.

Practical Skills RequiredThe candidate should be able to:

• Read and understand electrical drawings and control circuit diagrams.
• Perform neat and systematic control panel wiring.
• Understand PLC I/O wiring and basic PLC control circuits.
• Identify and wire sensors such as proximity, photoelectric, limit switches, pressure switches, etc.
• Understand basic wiring of VFDs and servo drives.
• Carry out motor power and control wiring.
• Use a multimeter, clamp meter, insulation tester (megger), tester, crimping tools, ferrule machine, and other electrical tools.
• Perform fault finding using electrical drawings and testing instruments.
• Understand single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
• Understand basic 24V DC control circuits and industrial electrical systems.
• Work independently during panel wiring and machine electrical wiring.

QualificationITI – Electrician preferred.

Diploma in Electrical / Electronics Engineering will be an added advantage.

Experience2–5 years of relevant experience in:

• PLC control panel wiring
• Industrial electrical panel wiring
• Machine electrical wiring
• CNC / VMC / special-purpose machine wiring
• Automation panels
• Industrial machinery manufacturing

Fresh ITI candidates with good practical wiring skills may also be considered.

Working ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will be responsible for complete electrical wiring of control panels and industrial machines, from component mounting and panel wiring to machine wiring, I/O checking, troubleshooting, testing, and support during final machine commissioning.
