Job Description
- Prepare a wide range of authentic South Indian dishes as per company recipes and standards.
- Have strong hands-on expertise in dishes such as Idli, Dosa, Vada, Pongal, Sambar, Chutneys, Poori, Upma and other South Indian specialities.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portion size and presentation.
- Ensure all food is prepared according to standardized recipes and company SOPs.
- Manage daily kitchen production and ensure timely preparation of food.
- Supervise and guide kitchen staff and allocate work efficiently.
- Monitor the quality and freshness of raw materials and ingredients.
- Ensure proper food storage and FIFO practices.
- Control food wastage and maintain proper portion control.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
- Coordinate with the Restaurant Manager/Supervisor to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor kitchen inventory and communicate requirements to the concerned person.
- Ensure minimum disruption during peak hours and handle high-volume food production efficiently.
- Train junior kitchen staff in preparation methods, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
- Follow company policies, safety standards and operational procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in the Food & Beverage/Restaurant industry.
- Strong expertise in South Indian cuisine is mandatory.
- Experience in restaurants, hotels, QSRs or established food chains will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of traditional South Indian cooking techniques.
- Ability to maintain consistent taste and quality in high-volume production.
- Good team-management and kitchen coordination skills.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen SOPs.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage peak-hour operations.
- Should be disciplined, responsible and reliable.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
