Job Objective 

A Commis 2 (Intermediate Chef) is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting food items while adhering to quality and safety standards, usually assisting Commis 1 or senior chefs. The Commis 3 is an entry-level kitchen position responsible for assisting senior chefs in basic cooking, kitchen cleanliness, food storage, and maintaining hygiene standards.

Job Responsibilities

Food Preparation: Execute daily mise-en-place and prepare dishes in accordance with standardized recipes and quality standards.

Kitchen Operations: Work in multiple sections as instructed by the Chef de Partie.

Hygiene & Safety: Ensure the workstation is clean, safe, and complies with food hygiene and safety regulations (HACCP).

Stock Management: Control food waste, manage inventory for the section, and follow FIFO (First In, First Out) systems.

Support: Assist in other sections during shortages, special events, or banquets.

Job Requirements

Experience: 0–3 years in a similar role within a hotel, resort, or restaurant.

Education: Higher secondary school of culinary school diploma or vocational certificate or Any Degree 

Skills: Proficiency in knife handling, basic cooking techniques (roasting, grilling, steaming), and high cleanliness standards.
