Job Description:

Job Summary:

 

The candidate will provide technical support for AS400 (IBM iSeries) applications and related systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting application issues, monitoring system performance, assisting users with AS400-related queries, and supporting upgrades, patches, and data migrations.

The candidate must have a basic understanding of AS400 architecture and be able to work closely with business teams to ensure smooth operations.

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a reputed institution or university with strong academic performance.

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide first-level and second-level support for AS400 applications and environments.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to AS400 jobs, CL programs, RPG/COBOL programs, and database queries.
• Monitor AS400 system performance and ensure uptime and reliability.
• Assist with data migration, system upgrades, and application enhancements on AS400.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, job scheduling, and security checks.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and maintain accurate logs in the ticketing system.
• Collaborate with development teams for bug fixes and enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with IT security and operational standards.

 

Skills & Competencies:

• Basic knowledge of AS400 (IBM iSeries) systems is not mandatory but added advantage
• Familiarity with RPG, COBOL, and DB2/400 database concepts.
• Basic understanding of networking and system integration.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies or processes.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Participating in training programs and workshops to develop relevant competencies
