Role:

The Product Engineer is responsible for executing mechanical engineering activities within the crusher product line, supporting product development initiatives and customer-specific projects. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions that meet performance, cost, and schedule objectives. The Product Engineer plays a key role in maintaining design integrity, advancing product standardization, and driving continuous improvement efforts. Additionally, this position provides technical leadership by guiding engineers, designers, and drafters throughout project execution.

Your responsibilities

• As an Engineer, shall act as product expert and leads the development and performance of the products to ensure that they are functioning according to quality and cost expectations.

• Execute mechanical engineering tasks for both product development and customer purchase order projects.

• Ensure design integrity, technical accuracy, and compliance with specifications across all assigned projects.

• Deliver engineering packages on time, within budget, and to established quality standards.

• Lead and direct the work of engineers, designers, and drafters to achieve project objectives.

• Review and approve engineering deliverables, including 2D drawings and 3D models.

• Perform and review mechanical calculations to validate designs and ensure performance requirements are met.

• Analyze complex engineering challenges and develop innovative or improved design solutions.

• Contribute to product standardization, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Participate in research and development efforts to enhance product performance and reliability.

• Review customer specifications and ensure alignment with engineering designs and deliverables.

• Support manufacturing and operations teams by resolving technical issues and enabling cost optimization initiatives.

• Assist in the development and maintenance of engineering standards, design guides, and control procedures.

• Provide mentorship and technical development support to team members.

• Travel to job sites and regional offices to support installations, troubleshoot equipment issues, and assist with sales efforts.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful completion of team and organizational goals.

• Promote and uphold a strong culture of safety for both individuals and teams.

Required Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, you must have the following minimum qualifications and experience

• Strong proficiency in mechanical engineering fundamentals and design principles.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD). Specify the primary software worked on.

• Experience in designing industrial equipment. Previous experience with mining equipment is preferred.

• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes (e.g., casting, forging, welding, machining, sheet metal fabrication), materials and quality standards.

• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and application.

• Basic understanding of the design requirements of other disciplines.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate the work of designers, and drafters.

• Strong collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in crusher equipment, mining machinery, or bulk material handling systems.

• Familiarity with product development processes, value engineering, and standardization practices.

• Familiarity with GD&T methods.

• Experience supporting manufacturing, sourcing, and cost-reduction initiatives.

• Understanding of cross-disciplinary engineering requirements (electrical, controls, etc.).

Experience in change management and conflict resolution within engineering projects.

Education Qualification

Postgraduate/Graduate in Mechanical/Production/Automobile Engineering from a reputed university or equivalent.

Experience

Minimum of 8 - 12 years of related experience.
