KBR is seeking a Senior BI Platform and Analytics Engineer to join our IT team. This role is responsible for providing leadership in the administration, governance, and technical architecture of enterprise reporting and analytics platforms, including Microsoft Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, and supporting data infrastructure. Serves as the primary platform owner, ensuring stability, security, and long-term health of reporting environments while delivering scalable, enterprise-grade analytics solutions. Works closely with security, infrastructure, data engineering, and business teams to ensure reporting platforms are compliant, reliable, and aligned with organizational needs. Supports integration with modern data platforms such as data warehouses, data lakes, and Power BI Dataflows, ensuring consistent data consumption patterns and adherence to enterprise standards and lineage requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the installation, configuration, administration, and patching of enterprise BI and reporting platforms, ensuring operational stability and performance
  • Administer and maintain SSAS, SSRS, Power BI Gateway servers, and Power BI Service tenant settings and capacities
  • Act as the primary liaison between BI, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with enterprise security and governance standards
  • Lead development, maintenance, and support of enterprise BI solutions across Power BI, SSAS Tabular, and SSRS
  • Design and maintain enterprise semantic models and SSAS Tabular models, ensuring scalability, consistency, and performance
  • Develop and support Power BI datasets, dashboards, and reports, including paginated reports for operational and executive use
  • Integrate and enable analytics using enterprise data warehouses, Azure Data Lakes, and Power BI Dataflows, ensuring adherence to data standards and lineage requirements
  • Apply appropriate data architecture patterns (lakehouse vs. warehouse) to support efficient and scalable analytics consumption
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions using PowerShell and Power Automate to support platform deployment, monitoring, data integration, alerting, and administrative processes across on-premises and Azure environments
  • Standardize operational processes to reduce risk and improve platform reliability and efficiency
  • Lead Power BI tenant-to-tenant migration initiatives, including workspace, dataset, report, and app migration
  • Perform gateway validation and reconfiguration, security model alignment, and tenant setting adjustments
  • Analyze dependencies, refactor artifacts, and validate data accuracy, refresh reliability, performance, and access controls post-migration
  • Collaborate with Azure AD, security, and infrastructure teams to manage tenant-level dependencies, including service principals, permissions, and governance controls
  • Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, and architecture planning; oversee development, QA, deployment, and training activities
  • Define and drive BI standards, governance frameworks, and best practices; evaluate technologies and perform proof-of-concepts
  • Monitor and troubleshoot platform and reporting issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide after-hours support as needed
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture, processes, and standards
  • Mentor and guide team members, support workload planning, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of BI solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement of platform capabilities, automation, and operational processes

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of experience with Microsoft Power BI, including development, administration, and governance
  • 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise BI/data warehouse environments
  • 5+ years of experience with SSAS (Tabular) and SSRS
  • Strong experience administering enterprise BI platforms, including Power BI Service, gateways, SSAS, and SSRS
  • Proven experience with environment setup, configuration, patching, and platform lifecycle management
  • Experience working with security and identity teams, including Azure AD, service principals, and access governance
  • Strong expertise in automation, including PowerShell scripting and Power Automate, for workflow automation, monitoring, alerting, and administration across on-premises and Azure environments
  • Extensive experience designing and developing complex semantic models and SSAS Tabular models
  • Strong experience building Power BI datasets, reports, dashboards, and paginated reports
  • Experience leveraging modern data platforms, including Azure Data Lake/Lakehouse architecture and Power BI Dataflows
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data warehouse concepts, data modeling, and data consumption patterns
  • Experience planning and executing Power BI tenant-to-tenant migrations, including artifact migration, gateway configuration, and security alignment
  • Familiarity with migration tools, APIs, scripting, and deployment pipelines for Power BI
  • Strong SQL skills, including query development, tuning, and performance optimization
  • Experience working with SQL Server, Oracle, and related database technologies
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business audiences
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
