Why we're hiring:

WPP ET is undergoing a significant transformation to modernise ways of working, shift to cloud-based and micro-service architectures, increase automation, and digitise colleague and client experiences. Within this context, the Software Developer plays a key delivery role within the Chase Media Central programme, helping to build and maintain the technical foundation required for a successful multi-market rollout. The focus of this role is to design, develop, and support application components - particularly integrations, data-movement logic, and platform services - that allow Media Central (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) to interoperate smoothly with surrounding media and finance systems. While integrations form a central part of the scope, the role remains broad: you contribute to platform enhancements, application workflows, user-facing features, debugging, release readiness, and cross-team engineering practices. You will translate business and technical requirements into clear, maintainable code, prepare technical design documents, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot production issues. The role requires excellent communication with product, QA, data, and market teams to ensure solutions align with business expectations and perform reliably across diverse EMEA, APAC, and LATAM markets. Success in this position is defined by robust integrations, clean code, stable data flows, and effective partnership across global, cross-functional teams.

What you'll be doing:

Application & Integration Development

• Design, develop, and maintain application components for the Media Central ecosystem, with a strong focus on integrations, data exchange, and system interoperability.
• Build and enhance services using Microsoft technologies (C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, Azure) to support end-to-end platform functionality.
• Prepare detailed technical design documents that clearly articulate solution approach, interface behaviour, error handling, data transformations, and performance considerations.
• Contribute to user story refinement and translate requirements into technical tasks and actionable engineering work.

Data Transport & Platform Reliability

• Implement reliable data-movement logic, including scheduled jobs, query layers, and

transformation steps used by downstream teams (Reporting, BI, Data Migration).

• Work with QA and BI/Data teams to validate data flows, troubleshoot discrepancies, and improve stability and performance.
• Ensure integrations and platform components are tested thoroughly, using structured unit, functional and regression tests.

Support, Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement

• Investigate and resolve application and integration incidents; provide clear root-cause analysis, workarounds, and permanent fixes.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, release notes, and support guides to ensure clarity and long-term maintainability.
• Participate actively in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement of engineering standards, tooling, and delivery practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Owners, QA Leads, BI/Data counterparts, implementation teams, and market SMEs to ensure solutions meet expectations and fit into the broader programme landscape.

• Collaborate with local and global teams to ensure consistent, scalable, maintainable engineering approaches across markets.

What you'll need:

Essential Technical Skills

• 3–5+ years of software development experience (5–7+ for senior-level profiles).
• Strong development capabilities in C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, Azure and related Microsoft technologies.
• Solid understanding of integration concepts (REST, data sync patterns, transformation logic), even if not exclusively API-focused.
• Ability to produce high-quality technical designs, including interface definitions, data mappings, and flow documentation.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and modern engineering practices (code reviews, version control, DevOps workflows).

Professional & Analytical Skills

• Ability to analyse complex requirements, identify technical implications, and translate them into clear, feasible development tasks.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across application, database, and integration layers.
• Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly and apply them in a structured, maintainable manner.
