Dispatch Manager

Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and highly organized Dispatch Manager to lead our end-to-end dispatch and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have 6 to 10 years of hands-on experience in industrial manufacturing dispatch, specifically handling metal products (ingots, cubes) and electrical conductors/cables. This role requires strict adherence to dispatch protocols, particularly the documentation and inspection compliance required for government utility clients (e.g., GEB).

Key Responsibilities1. Dispatch & Logistics Management

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee the daily dispatch of aluminum cubes, ingots, and conductor cables from the manufacturing plant to final destinations.
• Allocate and schedule transport vehicles efficiently to ensure timely deliveries while optimizing freight costs.
• Negotiate rates with transport vendors and logistics partners to maintain cost-effective distribution.
• Supervise the safe loading and securing of finished goods, ensuring zero damage to cables and metal products during transit.

2. Government & Client Compliance (GEB/Utilities)

• Coordinate extensively with government agencies and state electricity boards (like GEB) for Dispatch Instructions (DI) and material clearance.
• Ensure all outward material passes mandatory pre-dispatch inspections (PDI) required by government authorities before loading.
• Maintain exact adherence to packaging, labeling, and delivery schedules mandated by government tenders and contracts.

3. Documentation & ERP Operations

• Generate and manage all dispatch-related documentation, including Invoices, Delivery Challans, E-Way Bills, Packing Lists, and Lorry Receipts (LR).
• Ensure accurate entry of outbound inventory and dispatch metrics into the company’s ERP system.
• Maintain clear records of imported aluminum scrap movement and finished goods dispatch for audit and taxation purposes.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination & Team Leadership

• Act as the central liaison between the Production, Quality Control, and Sales departments to align dispatch schedules with daily manufacturing outputs.
• Lead, train, and manage the dispatch team, including warehouse staff, loading supervisors, and billing executives.
• Resolve any transit-related issues, delays, or damages proactively.
• Qualifications & ExperienceEducation: Bachelor’s degree
• Experience: 6 to 10 years of proven experience in dispatch and logistics management, specifically within the metal manufacturing, cabling, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Industry Knowledge: Prior experience handling dispatches for government utility boards (like GEB, GUVNL, or other state electricity boards) is highly preferred.
• Core CompetenciesStrong understanding of freight negotiation and transport management.
• Proficiency in creating E-Way bills and handling GST/taxation documentation for industrial transport.
• Hands-on experience with ERP software (SAP, Tally, or similar).
• Excellent leadership, crisis-management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict government tender delivery deadlines.
