Location: Chhatral, Gujarat

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and responsible ETP Operator to operate and maintain the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) at our textile/home furnishing manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth plant operations, compliance with environmental regulations, and efficient treatment of industrial wastewater while maintaining accurate operational records.

Key Responsibilities

ETP Operations

• Operate and monitor all stages of the Effluent Treatment Plant, including collection, equalization, neutralization, aeration, clarification, filtration, and sludge handling.
• Ensure uninterrupted operation of pumps, blowers, agitators, dosing systems, filters, and other ETP equipment.
• Monitor and control treatment parameters such as pH, TSS, TDS, COD, BOD, DO, turbidity, and flow rates.
• Perform routine water quality testing and maintain operational logs.

Chemical Handling

• Prepare and dose treatment chemicals such as lime, alum, PAC, polymers, caustic, acids, and other required chemicals.
• Monitor chemical consumption and maintain optimum dosing levels.
• Ensure safe storage and handling of chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.

Equipment Maintenance

• Carry out routine inspection and basic maintenance of ETP equipment.
• Identify mechanical or electrical abnormalities and report them to the maintenance department.
• Assist during preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the ETP area.

Sludge Management

• Operate sludge thickening, filter press, or dewatering systems.
• Ensure proper collection, storage, and disposal of sludge as per Pollution Control Board guidelines.
• Maintain records of sludge generation and disposal.

Environmental Compliance

• Ensure treated water meets Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) and Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) discharge norms.
• Maintain statutory records, daily logbooks, laboratory reports, and compliance documentation.
• Support environmental audits and inspections by regulatory authorities.

Safety & Documentation

• Follow all EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) procedures while operating the plant.
• Use appropriate PPE while handling chemicals and equipment.
• Report any spills, leakages, equipment failures, or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.

Qualifications

• ITI/Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in operating an Effluent Treatment Plant in the textile, dyeing, chemical, process, or manufacturing industry.
• Certification in ETP operation or environmental management will be an added advantage.
