CNC Machine Operator

Role summary You drill the holes that hold every of our product together. One hole a few millimetres off means a carcass that will not close on site, so precision on every panel is the core of this job. Key responsibilities Read drilling drawings and panel labels, and set up the machine for each job Set boring heads, drill bits, fences and stops for hinge cups, shelf pins, dowels and cam locks Run first-piece checks with a vernier and measuring tape before starting a batch Drill panels to the 32 mm system and job specs, both vertical and horizontal boring Check pieces through the batch for hole position, depth and breakout Change and maintain drill bits; flag worn bits before they spoil panels Do daily cleaning, lubrication and basic machine maintenance; log breakdowns Keep drilled panels stacked and labelled in sequence for the next process Record daily output and rejections Follow safety rules and use PPE at all times Requirements ITI (Fitter, Machinist or Carpenter) or 10th/12th pass with strong machine experience Hands-on experience on a multiboring machine for MDF, particle board or plywood panels Able to read technical drawings and use a vernier caliper and measuring tape Good understanding of the 32 mm system and modular hardware drilling.
