Panel Saw Operator

Role summary You make the first cut on every order. Accurate, chip-free panels cut with minimum waste set up every process after you, from edge banding to drilling to installation. Key responsibilities Read cutting lists and optimisation sheets, and cut boards to size as per job cards Cut plywood, MDF, particle board and pre-laminated boards with clean, chip-free edges Follow grain direction and laminate side as marked on the cutting list Set and check the main blade and scoring blade; report dull or damaged blades Check dimensions and squareness of the first piece and through the batch Label each cut panel with its order and panel ID Keep offcuts sorted and reuse them where possible to cut wastage Stack cut panels neatly for the next process without damaging edges or surfaces Do daily cleaning, dust extraction checks and basic machine maintenance Record daily output, board consumption and rejections Follow safety rules and use PPE at all times Requirements ITI or 10th/12th pass with hands-on panel saw experience Experience on a sliding table panel saw; beam saw experience is a plus
