Production Supervisor
Company: Hospedia Medicare Pvt. Ltd.
Department: Production / Manufacturing
Reporting To: Head – Operations
Location: Gurugram, Haryana
Experience: 6-9 years in manufacturing or assembly operations
Employment Type: Full-time
1. Job Purpose
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervising daily production and assembly activities for OT Lights and OT Tables, ensuring that production targets are achieved within planned timelines while maintaining product quality, material accountability, workplace safety, and operational discipline.
The role involves hands-on supervision of shop-floor employees, allocation of daily work, monitoring assembly progress, coordinating with Stores and QC, and reporting production status and issues to the Head – Operations.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Production & Assembly Supervision
- Execute daily production and assembly plans as assigned by the Head – Operations.
- Allocate work to technicians and assembly staff based on priorities, skills, and production requirements.
- Supervise assembly activities for medical devices as applicable to the assigned unit.
- Monitor daily output against planned targets and ensure timely completion of scheduled work.
- Track work-in-progress and identify delays, incomplete assemblies, and resource constraints.
- Report production bottlenecks and take corrective action within the delegated authority.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and workstations are available and properly maintained.
B. Material & Inventory Coordination
- Coordinate with Stores to ensure the timely availability of components, accessories, and assembly materials.
- Verify material requirements before starting production and report shortages promptly.
- Ensure materials are issued, consumed, returned, and recorded according to established procedures.
- Prevent material wastage, damage, and unauthorized use.
- Maintain accountability for materials and work-in-progress under the team's control.
C. Quality & Process Compliance
- Ensure assembly is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Coordinate with QC for inspections, testing, and clearance at the required stages.
- Identify and report defects, non-conformities, and recurring assembly issues.
- Ensure defective or non-conforming materials and products are identified and segregated according to approved procedures.
- Support rework, corrective actions, and process improvements in coordination with QC and the Head – Operations.
- Maintain required production, inspection, and traceability records.
D. Manpower & Shop-Floor Management
- Supervise technicians, assemblers, helpers, and other assigned production personnel.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, work allocation, productivity, and adherence to workplace discipline.
- Train employees in assembly methods, SOPs, safe material handling, and quality requirements.
- Ensure proper housekeeping, tool control, and compliance with workplace safety practices.
- Report manpower shortages, skill gaps, and performance concerns to the Head – Operations.
E. Production Reporting & Dispatch Coordination
- Maintain daily production records, including planned versus actual output, work-in-progress, and pending jobs.
- Provide timely updates on assembly completion and production delays.
- Coordinate with QC, Stores, and Packaging to ensure completed products are ready for the next stage.
- Prioritize work according to approved production schedules and dispatch requirements.
- Escalate any risk that may affect committed production or dispatch timelines.
- 3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Daily production target versus actual output.
- Timely completion of assigned production schedules.
- First-pass quality and reduction in rework.
- Material consumption, wastage, and accountability.
- Accuracy and timely completion of production records.
- Workforce productivity, attendance, and discipline.
- Compliance with SOPs, safety, and housekeeping requirements.
4. Qualifications & Experience Essential
- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, or a related trade; relevant practical manufacturing experience will also be considered.
- 6-9 years of experience in production supervision, assembly, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience supervising shop-floor employees and meeting daily production targets.
- Ability to read and follow assembly instructions, drawings, specifications, and SOPs relevant to the role.
- Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Excel and production records.
- Good coordination, problem-solving, and team-management skills.
Preferred
- Experience in medical equipment, electrical/electronic products, electromechanical assembly, or precision engineering.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, quality inspection, and product traceability.
- Experience with ERP/inventory systems and structured production reporting.
5. Candidate Profile We are looking for a disciplined, hands-on Production Supervisor who can lead shop-floor teams, maintain production schedules, ensure quality compliance, and resolve routine assembly issues.
The candidate must be comfortable working directly with technicians and operators, coordinating with Stores and QC, maintaining accurate records, and escalating production risks promptly.
