Job Summary

JNM Enterprise, the official franchise partner for Heads Up For Tails (HUFT) in Guwahati, is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and result-oriented Store Manager / Asst. Store Manager. In this role, you will work closely with senior management and the City Manager to drive daily store operations, deliver exceptional customer and pet experiences, manage inventory, and lead a high-performing retail team across current and future store locations in Guwahati and Assam.

Key Responsibilities

1. Store Operations & Visual Merchandising
2. Oversee day-to-day retail store operations and ensure strict adherence to store opening, closing, and operational schedules across all current and future store locations in Guwahati and Assam.
3. Maintain international brand standards for Visual Merchandising (VM), product shelf replenishment, and store cleanliness.
4. Ensure seamless operational execution in both retail and pet spa sections.

Team Leadership, Hiring & Staff Management

1. Lead, mentor, and motivate store executives, groomers, and support personnel.
2. Manage regular hiring, onboarding, and continuous product/service training for new team members.
3. Oversee staff shift scheduling, attendance, grooming standards, and proactively manage attrition of existing staff.
4. Leadership in Management Absence: Lead from the front and independently handle decision-making in the best interest of the company in the absence of senior management.

Sales Targets & Revenue Growth

1. Driving Revenue & Profitability: Drive overall store revenue and actively contribute to increasing overall company profitability across all store locations.
2. Assist the City Manager in driving store revenues to achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
3. Upsell premium pet care products, nutrition solutions, and spa services to increase Average Order Value (AOV).
4. Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and actively work toward maximizing store profitability.

Customer Relationship & Pet Spa Experience

1. Deliver high-touch customer service to build a loyal client base, mitigate early churn indicators, and drive customer retention.
2. Handle customer queries, feedback, and complaints effectively to ensure high satisfaction.
3. Oversee pet handling standards to ensure a safe, calm, and positive environment for pets and pet parents.

Inventory Control & Cash Management

1. Maintain accurate stock levels, conduct regular stock audits, and prevent inventory shrinkage or wastage.
2. Coordinate with the finance team for daily cash drawer reconciliation, billing accuracy, and weekly financial reporting.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Commerce, or any relevant discipline.
2. Experience: 3 to 8 years of experience in retail store management, assistant store handling, or hospitality (experience in pet care, premium retail, or FMCG is a strong plus).

Skills

1. Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
2. Driven by sales targets, profitability, and customer retention.
3. Working knowledge of retail POS systems, MS Excel, and inventory management software.
4. Excellent communication skills in English, Hindi, and Assamese.
5. Passion for pets and animal care is mandatory.
