CNC Press Brake Operator

We are looking for an experienced CNC Press Brake Operator to operate and set up CNC press brake machines for precision bending of MS, SS, GI and aluminium sheets used in industrial electrical enclosures and sheet-metal assemblies.

The operator will be responsible for machine setup, tool selection, program loading/adjustment, accurate bending as per engineering drawings, and maintaining dimensional and visual quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC press brake machines for precision sheet-metal bending.
• Read and interpret 2D drawings, DXF files, bend drawings and bend sequences.
• Understand bend allowance, K-factor, bend deduction, inside radius and bend compensation.
• Select appropriate punches, dies and tooling according to material thickness and bend requirements.
• Set up the machine, including:
• Tool installation and alignment
• Back-gauge setup
• Tonnage/pressure settings
• Bend angle and depth parameters
• Program selection and adjustments
• Load and run CNC bending programs and make necessary corrections at the machine.
• Perform first-piece inspection and verify dimensions before proceeding with batch production.
• Measure components using vernier calipers, measuring tapes, angle gauges and other inspection equipment.
• Maintain required bend angles, dimensions, tolerances and repeatability throughout production.
• Identify and correct common bending issues such as:
• Incorrect bend angle
• Dimensional variation
• Springback
• Tool marks
• Cracking
• Misalignment
• Incorrect bend sequence
• Handle sheets safely and prevent scratches, dents and other surface damage, particularly on SS and powder-coated critical components.
• Follow approved bend sequence and engineering drawings.
• Maintain machine cleanliness, tooling condition and basic operator-level maintenance.
• Record production quantities, rejection/rework and machine-related issues.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Coordinate with the Mechanical Designer and Production Engineer when drawings, programs or bend sequences require clarification.
• Maintain proper identification and traceability of jobs and materials.

Candidate Requirements

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Fitter / Sheet Metal or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–5 years of experience operating CNC press brakes.
• Experience with industrial sheet-metal fabrication is preferred.
• Experience with MS, SS, GI and aluminium sheets.
• Ability to independently set up tooling and operate CNC press brake machines.
• Good understanding of technical drawings and dimensional measurements.
• Experience with Delem / Cybelec / ESA / similar CNC controls will be an advantage.
• Experience with 100T+ CNC press brakes is preferred.
• Ability to work with thin and medium-gauge sheet metal with high dimensional accuracy.
