Job Description: Shirt Maker (Garment / Master Tailor)
Overview:
A Shirt Maker is responsible for precision cutting, pattern drafting, stitching, fitting, and finishing high-quality men's or women's shirts. Roles exist across retail custom tailoring shops, boutiques, and garment manufacturing units.
Key Responsibilities:
Measurements & Pattern Drafting: Accurately taking customer measurements or using standard sizing charts to create cutting patterns.
Fabric Cutting & Preparation: Inspecting fabric for flaws, laying out patterns efficiently, and cutting collar, cuff, sleeve, and body panels.
Stitching & Assembly: Operating industrial single-needle and overlock sewing machines to assemble collar bands, plackets, cuffs, pockets, and side seams.
Finishing & Quality Check: Buttonhole creation, button stitching, thread trimming, pressing/ironing, and final quality inspection for accurate sizing and clean stitching.
Alterations & Fitting: Conducting trial fittings and adjusting sizes for custom or made-to-measure orders.
2. Job Description: Paint Maker (Batch Mixer / Operator)
Overview:
A Paint Maker (or Paint Batch Mixer / Machine Operator) blends pigments, solvents, resins, and chemical additives to produce industrial, automotive, or decorative paints and coatings according to strict formulas.
Key Responsibilities:
Raw Material Batching: Weighing, measuring, and charging liquid and dry raw materials (solvents, pigments, binders) into mixing tanks according to formulation sheets.
Machine Operation: Operating high-speed dispersers, bead mills, and chemical mixing equipment safely.
Color Matching & Testing: Matching color shades against standards, taking viscometer/density readings, and taking samples for quality control checks.
Filling & Packaging: Transferring finished batch paint into containers, cans, or drums and attaching labels.
Safety & Maintenance: Cleaning mixing vats, handling hazardous materials under safety guidelines (PPE, ventilation), and doing basic equipment maintenance.
