The Senior Manager II, Operations Finance, PDS Finance, serves as a strategic Finance business partner, leading Operations Finance activities across manufacturing sites and External Manufacturing within BMS's Hyderabad Hub. The role drives financial performance, process transformation, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver business outcomes.

The successful candidate will bring strategic leadership, global best practices, and a continuous improvement mindset to Operations Finance. This role will drive transformation, strengthen financial governance, and foster operational excellence through strong cross-functional partnerships.

• Recognized expertise in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, financial modelling
• Deep understanding of manufacturing operations, operational cost drivers, and pharmaceutical industry trends.
• Ability to shape and execute the Operations Finance strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Build strategic partnerships across Hub teams, Site Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and global stakeholders.
• Drive alignment and governance across the FP&A organization within the Hyderabad Hub to support business objectives.
• Serve as a trusted Finance advisor to senior business leaders, shaping strategic and operational decisions.
• Provide strategic oversight of financial performance, business risks, and growth opportunities.
• Lead finance transformation through process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and organizational change to deliver sustainable business outcomes.
• Influence global stakeholders and cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.
• Develop high-performing teams through coaching, talent development, and succession planning.
• Demonstrate executive presence with exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  

A minimum of 12–14 years of progressive experience in Manufacturing Finance is required, including at least 4 years in a leadership role. The position is based in BMS's Hyderabad Hub (50% in-office) with minimal travel required.

Key Responsibilities and Major Duties:

Operations FP&A activities

• Provide strategic oversight of month-end and quarter-end close activities, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across Manufacturing Operations.
• Drive monthly and quarterly financial reporting, providing executive insights on manufacturing performance, cost trends, operational risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Lead oversight of manufacturing variance analysis across sites and external manufacturing partners, driving insights on PPV, efficiency, usage, volume, and spend variances to improve operational and financial performance.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning activities aligned with Manufacturing Operations objectives.
• Lead inventory reserve governance across manufacturing sites and external manufacturing partners, driving accuracy, process improvements, and strategic insights
• Drive SOX governance and audit readiness across manufacturing sites and external manufacturing partners, strengthening controls, compliance, and process improvements.
• Drive standard cost governance through BOM and routing reviews across manufacturing sites and external manufacturing partners, ensuring cost accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Serve as a strategic Finance business partner to senior stakeholders, translating business drivers and operational priorities into actionable insights.
• Provide oversight of expense management, cost center performance, headcount planning, and core Manufacturing Finance activities.
• Drive financial modelling, scenario analysis, and business case development to support strategic decisions.
• Lead executive presentations, business reviews, dashboards, and decision-support materials.
• Challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve financial and operational performance.
• Drive finance transformation through process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Strengthen financial governance through data integrity, internal controls, and compliance with corporate reporting requirements.

Relationship management and teaming   

• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with Hyderabad Hub teams, Site Finance, Operations, and global Finance leadership to drive alignment and business outcomes.
• Establish external networks to leverage industry best practices, emerging technologies, and finance transformation opportunities.
• Foster a culture of accountability by ensuring timely, high-quality, and accurate execution across Operations Finance activities.

Risk management  

• Anticipate needs, assess and manage business risk taking; escalate issues that may impact management reporting process globally; manage through times of crisis and ambiguity
