Video Editor

VIDEO EDITOR – TELUGU 

A creative and skilled Video Editor who understands short-form content, Telugu internet culture, memes, humour, satire and political communication, and can turn briefs, ideas and raw footage into engaging and impactful video content. 

Responsibilities 

• Edit Reels, short-form videos, meme videos, political content and other social media content. • Edit speeches, interviews, news clips, campaign videos, parody videos and other digital content. • Create video content using original and repurposed footage. 

• Take a brief, understand the team's needs and specifications, and translate it into effective video communication. 

• Develop and review scripts and raw material for videos wherever required. 

• Trim footage segments and put together sequences with logical sequencing, strong pacing and smooth running. 

• Create rough cuts and final cuts based on the requirements. 

• Add and effectively use music, dialogues, graphics, subtitles, text, sound effects, transitions and visual effects wherever required. 

• Create strong hooks, pacing, transitions and visual storytelling to keep viewers engaged and improve audience retention. 

• Understand and effectively use Telugu meme formats, humour, satire, internet trends and cultural references. 

• Create engaging political and social-media content that is relevant to the target audience. • Work closely with content writers, designers and creative teams to execute ideas and creative briefs in a fast-paced work environment. 

• Consult and coordinate with stakeholders across various teams and incorporate feedback into final outputs. 

• Consistently create impactful communication collaterals across various mediums. • Stay updated with current video-editing trends, viral formats, AI video tools, new content styles, editing technologies and industry best practices, and implement them to improve efficiency and output quality. 

• Handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver quality work within tight deadlines. Requirements 

• 21–27 years old. 

• 1–8 years of work experience in an art/design or video-editing environment, preferably with an advertising agency (ATL/digital), brand or startup. 

• Strong command of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. 

• Proficiency in CapCut or similar editing software. 

• Experience with Final Cut is an advantage. 

• Hands-on experience with AI tools for video creation, editing and content production. • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and CorelDRAW. 

• Good understanding of Telugu language and Telugu meme culture. 

• Good awareness of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and national politics. 

• Strong understanding of short-form video, audience retention and current content trends. • Strong sense of timing, humour, visual storytelling, music and aesthetics. 

• Ability to create engaging content from raw footage, scripts and basic creative briefs. • Ability to translate a brief into well-crafted communication content. 

• Familiarity with special effects, animation, 3D and compositing. 

• Keen eye for aesthetics, visual quality and attention to detail.

• Solid knowledge of design and visual principles. 

• Creative mind with strong storytelling skills. 

• Fast, creative and enthusiastic, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure. 

• Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work methodically and meet deadlines. • Previous experience in political, meme, news or social media video editing is a plus. • Should have experience creating posts, ads or banners for social media in a previous role. • Editing machine/desktop is mandatory.
