Indiehouse is a concept store and café in Jaipur. It brings together design, craft and great coffee. We want the café to feel personal and creative, and we want guests to keep coming back.

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled, passionate barista who loves coffee and loves people. You'll own the coffee bar: you'll craft drinks, keep quality high and lead the other baristas. You'll also look after guests, take orders, handle billing and keep the kitchen in sync. We want someone who brings fresh ideas and helps shape what the café becomes.

Coffee & Bar

• Prepare excellent espresso-based drinks every time: espresso, cappuccino, latte, flat white, cortado and more.
• Dial in the espresso daily by adjusting the grind, dose, yield and extraction time for taste and consistency.
• Steam and texture milk well, including plant-based milks, and pour clean latte art.
• Brew manual and alternative coffees such as pour-over, AeroPress, French press and cold brew. Experience with these is a strong plus.
• Keep the espresso machine and grinders clean, and handle their daily and weekly maintenance.
• Train and guide other baristas on recipes, technique and speed so every cup meets our standard.
• Manage coffee and milk stock, store beans properly and keep waste low.

Creativity & New Ideas

• Suggest new drinks, seasonal specials and signature beverages for the menu.
• Bring ideas for coffee pairings, small events, tastings or anything that makes Indiehouse special.
• Help improve how drinks are presented, served and described to guests.

Guests & Service

• Greet every guest warmly and make them feel at home.
• Take food and beverage orders, recommend drinks and dishes, and help guests choose.
• Serve drinks to guests and explain the coffee if they're curious.
• Handle billing on the POS (cash, UPI and card) and close the day's accounts.
• Handle feedback politely and fix issues on the spot.

Team & Kitchen

• Lead the baristas during service so orders go out fast and right.
• Supervise kitchen staff on order flow, timing, hygiene and presentation.
• Keep the bar, counter and service area clean and organised.

What we're looking for

• 1–2 years of hands-on barista experience. Specialty café experience is preferred.
• Solid espresso knowledge: extraction, grinder calibration, milk texturing and latte art.
• A real passion for coffee, and curiosity to keep learning and experimenting.
• A creative mindset and confidence to suggest new ideas.
• A friendly, cheerful personality that stays warm and smiling on busy days.
• Good spoken English and Hindi.
• Ability to lead a small team calmly.
• Comfort with POS billing and cash handling.
• Willing to work weekends, evenings and festive seasons.

Nice to have

• A barista certification, such as SCA or a barista academy course.
• Experience with manual brewing or coffee competitions.
• A hotel management diploma or degree.
• An interest in design, lifestyle or retail.
