As we scale our operations, we are looking for a meticulous and passionate Quality Control Specialist to join our team in the gemstone capital of the world—Jaipur.

Job Summary

As a Quality Control (QC) Specialist, you will be the guardian of Divinelane’s craftsmanship and brand reputation. You will be responsible for inspecting raw gemstones, semi-precious & precious stones, and finished jewellery pieces to ensure they strictly adhere to our design specifications, metal purity, stone-setting standards, and overall finish before reaching our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Gemstone Inspection: Examine loose and studded gemstones (precious & semi-precious) for the 4Cs (Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat weight).Detect natural inclusions, structural flaws, chips, surface blemishes, or undisclosed treatments/enhancements using gemological tools (10x loupe, microscope, calipers, etc.).
• Jewellery & Metal Finishing Quality Check: Inspect finished jewellery (Gold, Silver, Platinum) for metal porosity, solder marks, symmetry, and uniform high-polish/matte finishing.Thoroughly verify stone settings (prong, bezel, pavé, channel) to ensure stones are secure, level, and aligned.Check mechanical components such as clasps, hinges, earring backs, locks, and closures for smooth functionality and durability.
• Specifications & Compliance: Verify dimensions, stone counts, weight deviations, and hallmarking/stamping against CAD files, production sheets, and master design cards.Ensure compliance with international packaging, tagging, and certification guidelines.
• Reporting & Process Improvement: Maintain comprehensive daily QC logs, tracking defect rates, rejection reasons, and turnaround times.Coordinate closely with production teams, master artisans (karigars), and vendors to communicate quality issues and implement corrective actions.Assist in refining QC SOPs to minimize return rates and elevate customer satisfaction.
• Required Qualifications & SkillsExperience: 3 to 6+ years of hands-on experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance in the gemstone and jewellery industry.Education/Certification: Graduate in any discipline. A professional certification or diploma in Gemology/Diamond Grading (from institutes like GIA, IGI, GJEPC/IIG, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of gemstone varieties, metal casting, mounting techniques, and rhodium/plating processes.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional eye for micro-level defects and finishing inconsistencies.
• Tools Proficiency: Expert hand with gemological equipment (loupes, tweezers, carat balances, millimeter gauges, refractometers).Communication: Good communication skills to liaise professionally with artisans, production managers, and inventory teams.
