JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

• To ensure timely completion of project execution including start-up and validation. 
• Ensure projects are delivered with-in budget & meeting quality standard 
• Ensure Projects are meeting Safety standards 
  

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• To ensure high safety, health and environment standards in all engineering and facilities operations including external vendors and contractors. 
• To Ensure Zero loss time accident for employee and contractor by adhering to training calendar along with risk assessment and safety gaps mitigation. 
• To achieve 100 % Project compliance with safety, quality, time and cost with regulatory compliance. 
• To ensure timely review and approvals of specific documentation, procedures and site change control system for equipment and process. 
• To achieve 100 % day to day GMP compliance of engineering. 
• To ensure timely completion for IQ, OQ validation documentation for new equipments. 
• To ensure new vendor selection criteria to be followed as per Abbott expectations. 
• To ensure timely engineering and facilities contractor jobs verification and certification with bills. 
• To ensure 100% PM and calibration schedule adherence in engineering department. 
• Expertise in equipment installation & commissioning, piping execution activities, such as Fabrication & Erection. 
• Interpreting isometrics/P&ID, FMEA, Pr-Commissioning and clearance of punch list points. 
• Optimize resources (manpower, machine and materials) to ensure efficient and timely completion of the project. 
• Obtain RCE approvals and develop URS, milestone schedule and cost estimate. 
• Obtain Change Control approvals if required. 
• Provide justification for project and shutdown activities to operations and senior management. 
• Develop essential documents as per change control & regulatory compliance if any. 
• Coordinate engineering reviews with Operations, Maintenance and Safety. 
• Monitoring of project progress and safety schedules. 
• Prepare and perform IQ. 
• Perform OQ if required. 
• Provide training for operations & maintenance if required. 
• Update as built drawings. 
• Financial closure and handover. 
• Compliance monitoring of engg department with respect to regulatory. 
• Follow up for calibration schedules. 
• Ensure Adherence to Global & Divisional engineering standards. 
• Planning of activities for yearly shutdowns. 
• Facility management including building and infrastructure. 
• To develop a preventive schedules for civil repairs across the facility. 

Additional Scope

a) Develop and execute a environmental sustainability roadmap projects to align Abbott goals for 2030.

b) Responsible for handling overall site project management responsibilities. c) Support in execution of project excellence initiatives and replications from other sites.

d) Plan and execute major projects related to capacity/facility/quality improvement projects.

e) Support site team on automation projects.

f) Connecting with network sites for best practices replications.

g) proactively share best practices implemented with other network sites.

• Ensure self and team members consistently follow all EHS rules and procedures.
• Ensure self and team members immediately report any EHS incident and/or near misses (unsafe acts and conditions) promptly to supervision.
• Attend all required safety training and medical surveillance program requirements.
• Ensure self and team members wear all required PPE.
• Consistently take a leadership role in identifying team members who are and are not following procedures
• Complete required STOP observations
• Incur zero injuries of self and team members as a result of unsafe action/behavior or failure to follow established procedures or guidelines. Identify and report to supervision opportunities to reduce energy and water use, waste generation within your work area.
  

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

• Bachelor of Engineering Degree majoring Electrical/Mechanical
• Broad engineering skills and experience in plant utilities maintenance, project management and plant start-up.
• Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills. Strong in planning and supervisory skills.
• Good Communication Skills with High computer literacy.
• Should have 7 to 8 years experience in Pharmaceutical/ Food/ Petrochemical/ Chemical plant or Automation industry.
• Knowledge in Six Sigma and Lean concept will be an added advantage
• Interpersonal skills in order to have healthy relationship with colleagues working in different functions at site

• Communication skills in order to understand and provide necessary feedback or solutions within the team and internal customers.
• Analytical thinking in order to go in depth understanding of RCA & problem solving techniques.
• Decision making skills in order to handle daily troubleshooting and major overhauling.

• Overall responsibilities for project execution with smooth operation start up with engineering compliance, maintenance and calibration schedule adherence
• The job holder should focus on learning the key aspects and duties of the job being performed.
• The Job holder should apply research, information gathering, analytical skills and handle detailed and structured problems.
