Stores & Weighbridge Operator – RMC PlantDepartment: Stores / Operations

Location: RMC Plant

Reporting To: Plant Incharge / Operations Manager

Job PurposeTo efficiently manage stores activities, material receipts and issues, inventory records, and weighbridge operations at the RMC plant. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate stock records, monitoring material movement, and ensuring proper documentation of all incoming and outgoing vehicles/materials.

Key ResponsibilitiesStores Operations

• Receive and verify cement, admixtures, aggregates, spare parts, diesel, consumables and other materials.
• Check quantity and material details against Purchase Orders, delivery challans and invoices.
• Maintain proper inward and outward records for all materials.
• Issue materials to the plant, maintenance and other departments based on authorized requisitions.
• Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels and inform the Plant Incharge about shortages.
• Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile with stock records.
• Maintain proper storage and housekeeping of the stores area.
• Ensure materials are stored safely and systematically.
• Maintain records of damaged, rejected, excess or shortage materials.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Accounts, Plant and Maintenance teams regarding material requirements.

Weighbridge Operations

• Operate the weighbridge system for all incoming and outgoing vehicles.
• Record vehicle number, driver details, material type, supplier/customer and quantity.
• Weigh vehicles accurately and generate weighment slips.
• Verify loaded and empty vehicle weights and calculate net quantity.
• Ensure all weighment entries are correctly recorded in the system/register.
• Cross-check weighbridge data with delivery challans and material receipts.
• Maintain daily vehicle and material movement reports.
• Report any discrepancies in weight, documents or vehicle details to the Plant Incharge immediately.
• Ensure proper documentation for aggregate, sand, cement, RMC and other material movements.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily stock registers and weighbridge reports.
• Prepare daily inward/outward material statements.
• Maintain GRN, material issue slips, delivery challans and weighment slips.
• Submit daily stock and vehicle movement reports to the reporting manager.
• Maintain records required for monthly stock reconciliation and audit.
• Ensure all documents are properly filed and readily available.
• CoordinationCoordinate with Plant Incharge, Production, Purchase, Accounts, QC, Dispatch and Transport teams.
• Coordinate with suppliers, drivers and vehicle operators for smooth material movement.
• Ensure materials are received and issued without unnecessary delays.
• Skills & CompetenciesBasic knowledge of stores and inventory management.
• Knowledge of weighbridge operations and weighment procedures.
• Basic computer knowledge, including MS Excel.
• Ability to maintain registers and documentation accurately.
• Good numerical and calculation skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work in a plant environment and manage multiple activities.
• QualificationMinimum 12th Pass / Diploma; relevant experience in Stores or Weighbridge operations preferred.
• Candidates with experience in RMC, crusher, aggregates, construction or manufacturing industries will be preferred.
• Experience2–5 years of experience in Stores / Weighbridge operations.

Experience in an RMC plant or construction/aggregate industry will be an added advantage.
