Job Description

  1. Supervise day-to-day tank construction, installation, fabrication, and maintenance activities at the project site.
  2. Ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedule.
  3. Coordinate with Site Engineer, Project Manager, QA/QC, Safety, Fabrication, Mechanical and Electrical teams.
  4. Monitor manpower deployment and ensure optimum utilization of workers and subcontractors.
  5. Supervise activities such as tank fabrication, erection, welding, alignment, fitting, piping connections, coating/painting and testing, as applicable.
  6. Ensure proper availability and use of materials, tools, equipment and machinery required for tank-related work.
  7. Monitor daily progress and prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR).
  8. Check workmanship and coordinate with QA/QC for inspection, testing and rectification of defects.
  9. Ensure all activities comply with HSE/Safety procedures, including PPE, work permits, working at height, hot work, confined-space requirements, etc.
  10. Identify site issues, delays, material shortages and manpower requirements and report them to the Project Manager.
  11. Coordinate with vendors/subcontractors and ensure work is completed within the planned timeline and quality standards.
  12. Maintain records of manpower, work progress, material consumption, inspection status and pending activities.
  13. Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions around the tank/work area.
  14. Conduct toolbox meetings and brief workers regarding job hazards and safe work practices.
  15. Support hydro testing, pressure testing, leak testing and commissioning activities, wherever applicable.
  16. Ensure proper handover of completed work and closure of snags/punch points.
  17. Perform any other tank-related duties assigned by the Project Manager/Site In-charge.
  • Key Skills / QualificationITI/Diploma in Mechanical/Fabrication/Civil, depending on project requirement.
  • Relevant experience in tank fabrication, erection, maintenance or industrial construction.
  • Knowledge of drawings, fabrication activities, welding and basic QA/QC requirements.
  • Good manpower handling and site coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial HSE and permit-to-work systems.
