Production Trainee

Position: Production Trainee – Modular Furniture

Reporting To: Production Supervisor / Production Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Production Operations

1.     Assist in daily production activities as per the production plan and instructions of the Production Supervisor.

2.     Learn and perform various stages of modular furniture manufacturing.

3.     Assist in processing of MDF, plywood, particle board, HDF and other panel-based materials.

4.     Learn and assist in:

o   Panel cutting, Edge banding, Drilling, Routing, Grooving

o   Sanding, Assembly, Hardware fitting, Final finishing

5.     Operate production machines only after proper training and authorization.

6.     Maintain proper sequence of production activities to avoid delays and rework.

7.     Assist senior operators and technicians in machine setup and routine operations.

B. Drawing & Measurement

1.     Understand basic production drawings and cutting layouts.

2.     Learn to identify dimensions, measurements and furniture components.

3.     Verify measurements before processing materials.

4.     Follow cutting lists, production sheets and work instructions.

5.     Develop basic understanding of modular kitchen, wardrobe, cabinet, office furniture and other modular products.

C. Machine & Tool Handling

1.     Learn safe operation of woodworking and furniture production machines.

2.     Handle hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments properly.

3.     Assist in routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance activities.

4.     Report abnormal machine noise, vibration, breakdown or safety concerns immediately.

5.     Maintain tools and equipment in proper condition.

D. Material Handling

1.     Handle MDF, plywood, laminates, hardware and other materials carefully.

2.     Assist in loading, unloading, stacking and movement of production materials.

3.     Follow proper storage practices to prevent damage.

4.     Help reduce material wastage during production.

5.     Ensure proper identification and segregation of materials.

E. Assembly & Hardware Fitting

1.     Learn assembly of modular furniture components.

2.     Assist in fitting hinges, channels, handles, screws, locks, brackets and other hardware.

3.     Ensure proper alignment and functionality of assembled furniture.

4.     Assist senior technicians in final assembly and finishing.

F. Production Records & Reporting

1.     Maintain basic production-related records as instructed.

2.     Report daily work completed to the Production Supervisor.

3.     Assist in recording production quantities, rejection/rework and material usage.

4.     Participate in daily production meetings/toolbox talks as required.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

Educational Qualification:       

ITI pass-out from a recognized institute.

Experience·        

0–1 year

Fresh ITI candidates are encouraged to apply.

Previous exposure to furniture, woodworking, CNC, panel saw or production environment will be an advantage.

Technical Skills

Candidate should have or be willing to develop:

Basic knowledge of hand tools

Basic measurement skills

Basic machine knowledge

Understanding of workshop safety

Ability to read basic drawings/instructions

Basic knowledge of mechanical/production processes

Willingness to learn modular furniture manufacturing

Behavioural Competencies:

Monthly Salary: ₹12,000.00
