Summary:
Managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting Kubernetes platforms across Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). The role requires proactive monitoring, incident resolution, platform administration, and collaboration with cloud and application teams to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of containerized workloads. The engineer will support GitOps deployments using Argo CD, CI/CD operations, and contribute to the stability and continuous improvement of Kubernetes platforms.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Platform & Operations
Operate, administer, and maintain Kubernetes clusters on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
Manage cluster health, node pools, workloads, namespaces, networking, storage, and Kubernetes resources.
Participate in application deployment activities using Argo CD and GitHub Actions.
Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance of Kubernetes platforms and hosted applications.
Implement and manage monitoring, alerting, logging, and operational dashboards.
Define and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation.
Incident & Reliability
Own incident response for Kubernetes platform and containerized workloads, including triage, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and prevention.
Resolve production incidents related to GKE, AKS, Argo CD, networking, storage, and Kubernetes infrastructure.
Coordinate with cloud, application, and platform teams for timely resolution.
Drive P1 & P2 incident bridges.
Track and improve platform reliability, availability, and operational metrics.
Lead post-incident reviews (RCA) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
CI/CD & Automation
Manage GitOps deployments using Argo CD.
Execute and troubleshoot GitHub Actions workflows and support CI/CD deployment activities.
Manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for repeatable deployments where applicable.
Support automation initiatives for Kubernetes platform operations.
Professional & Technical Skills:
Must Have Skills: Proficiency in Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Kubernetes Administration.
Good To Have Skills: Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure.
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, container orchestration, and cloud-native technologies.
Hands-on experience in administering GKE and AKS clusters.
Experience with Argo CD for GitOps-based deployments.
Experience executing and troubleshooting GitHub Actions workflows.
Strong experience with Linux administration and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in Terraform.
Proficiency in scripting/programming: Python / Bash / PowerShell.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions).
Experience with observability stacks: Grafana, Azure Monitor, Cloud Monitoring.
Practical understanding of Kubernetes networking, TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, Ingress Controllers, Load Balancers, and Storage.
Knowledge of Helm, Kubernetes RBAC, secrets, and certificate management.
Cloud: GCP, Azure.
Containers/Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (GKE, AKS).
CI/CD: GitHub Actions.
IaC/Automation: Terraform.
Strong troubleshooting mindset and ability to operate under pressure.
Clear communication with engineering, cloud, networking, and application teams.
Ownership mentality—drives issues to closure and improves platform reliability proactively.
Ability to work across time zones in shifts running 24 7 365 and handle on-call rotations.
Additional Information:
The candidate should have a minimum of 7.5 years of IT experience with strong hands-on experience in Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) administration and production support.
Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and cloud operations on GCP/Azure is an added advantage.
This position is based at our Kolkata and Bengaluru office.
A 15 years full-time education is required.
