We are looking for a passionate and skilled Barista to join our founding team and help us create an exceptional coffee experience for our customers.

Role OverviewAs a Barista at Brewray Deli, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and other beverages while maintaining excellent consistency, cleanliness, and customer service.

You will play an important role in setting up and maintaining the coffee station and ensuring that every beverage served meets Brewray Deli's quality standards.

We are looking for someone who is not just able to operate an espresso machine, but genuinely understands coffee and is passionate about continuously improving their skills.

• Key ResponsibilitiesCoffee & Beverage PreparationPrepare high-quality espresso-based beverages including Espresso, Americano, Cappuccino, Latte, Flat White, Mocha and other specialty drinks.
• Maintain consistency in coffee extraction, milk steaming, beverage temperature and presentation.
• Understand and follow standard recipes for all beverages.
• Prepare cold beverages, iced coffees and other café drinks as per the menu.
• Ensure beverages are served within the required time without compromising quality.
• Espresso & Coffee KnowledgeDial in espresso and make necessary adjustments to grind size and extraction.
• Monitor coffee quality throughout the day and maintain consistency.
• Understand the basics of coffee beans, roast profiles, extraction and brewing methods.
• Maintain appropriate coffee-to-water ratios and brewing standards.
• Assist in introducing and developing new coffee and beverage offerings.
• Equipment ManagementOperate and maintain the espresso machine, coffee grinders and other beverage equipment.
• Perform daily cleaning and basic maintenance of coffee equipment.
• Ensure regular backflushing, cleaning and upkeep of the espresso machine.
• Report any equipment issues or maintenance requirements promptly.
• Inventory & Stock ManagementMonitor inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, lids and other beverage ingredients.
• Maintain proper storage of coffee and other ingredients.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory management.
• Minimize wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
• Customer ExperienceInteract with customers in a friendly, welcoming and professional manner.
• Understand customer preferences and assist them with beverage recommendations.
• Handle customer feedback and beverage-related concerns professionally.
• Help create a warm and positive café environment.
• Hygiene & CleanlinessMaintain a clean and organized coffee station at all times.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Ensure all equipment, utensils and work surfaces are cleaned according to SOPs.
• Maintain personal hygiene and professional grooming standards.
• TeamworkCoordinate closely with the kitchen and service team to ensure smooth order execution.
• Assist team members during busy service periods.
• Participate in training sessions and continuously improve product knowledge and barista skills.
• Support the team in maintaining Brewray Deli's overall service and quality standards.
• Required Experience & QualificationsPrevious experience as a Barista in a café, coffee shop or restaurant is preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a professional coffee environment preferred.
• Barista or specialty coffee certifications will be an added advantage.
• Experience working with commercial espresso machines and grinders is preferred.

Exceptional candidates with strong practical skills and a genuine passion for coffee may also be considered regardless of formal qualifications.
