Key Responsibilities & Duties

1. Access Control & Security Monitoring

• Maintain and control all entry and exit points to ensure that only authorized personnel, patients, and visitors enter the hospital premises.
• Check visitors, patients, staff members, and their belongings as per security procedures.
• Verify visitor passes, relative passes, vendor passes, and contractor passes.
• Issue visitor passes and maintains visitor log records.
• Ensure that visitors do not carry unauthorized baggage or food items without permission.
• Check gate passes and challans for materials moving in and out of the hospital.
• Inspect vehicles entering the hospital premises using an under-vehicle mirror when required.
• Verify hospital parking stickers on doctors’ vehicles before allowing entry.

2. Visitor Assistance & Guidance

• Greet visitors and guide them to the appropriate hospital departments.
• Provide general information about hospital facilities to visitors and patients.
• Assist patients and relatives when required, especially during emergencies.
• Ensure smooth movement of patients, visitors, and hospital staff within the premises.

3. Traffic & Parking Management

• Regulate vehicular traffic at the main entrance of the hospital.
• Ensure smooth movement of vehicles within designated parking areas.
• Prevent unauthorized parking and ensure that vehicles are not parked in front of hospital gates or emergency entry points.
• Direct ambulance, medicine supply vehicles, garbage vehicles, and other authorized vehicles within the premises.

4. Crowd & Floor Management

• Manage visitor movement on hospital floors to prevent overcrowding.
• Ensure a calm and quiet environment suitable for patient care.
• Control crowds during peak visiting hours or emergency situations.
• Monitor visitor movement and ensure compliance with hospital visiting policies.

5. Premises Safety & Monitoring

• Ensure that hawkers, beggars, or unauthorized persons do not enter or encroach on the hospital premises.
• Conduct regular patrols in the main lobby, ramps, parking areas, ground floor, and other designated areas.
• Monitor for suspicious activities or unauthorized access within the premises.
• Report any security breaches or unusual incidents to the Security Shift In-Charge immediately.

6. Emergency Response

• Be familiar with all hospital emergency codes as part of orientation training.
• Actively participate in mock drills conducted by the hospital.
• Assist in evacuation procedures and guide people to designated safe points during emergencies.
• Support hospital staff during emergency situations such as fire, medical emergencies, or security threats.

7. Documentation & Administrative Duties

• Maintain records of goods received and dispatched from the hospital.
• Record entries of materials, vehicles, and visitors as per hospital procedures.
• Maintain registers for visitor logs, key issuance, and security records.
• Handle correspondence and documentation related to security operations.

8. Coordination & Communication

• Maintain effective communication with security personnel and hospital staff.
• Report maintenance issues or unclean areas to the housekeeping or maintenance department.
• Follow hospital security policies and protocols at all times.

9. Training & Compliance

• Attend training sessions, security briefings, and debriefing programs arranged by the management or security agency.
• Ensure compliance with hospital safety and security standards.
