Security Guard Supervisor

Job Purpose

The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily security operations of the hospital, ensuring safety and discipline within the premises, supervising security guards, maintaining records, coordinating emergency procedures, and ensuring compliance with hospital security protocols.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

1. Security Supervision & Coordination

• Supervise and guide security guards deployed at various hospital posts.
• Ensure proper discipline, duty allocation, and performance of security staff.
• Assist in managing duty schedules and coordinating shift deployment of security personnel.
• Maintain clear communication with hospital administration and security staff.

2. Access Control & Visitor Management

• Ensure that visitors enter the hospital only with valid visitor passes.
• Verify and maintain records of visitor and attendant passes.
• Issue visitor passes and maintain proper visitor log records.
• Collect attendant passes from patient relatives at the time of discharge.
• Guide visitors and provide information regarding hospital security procedures.
• Control and guide visitors during visiting hours to maintain order.

3. Documentation & Record Management

• Maintain security registers, logs, and records accurately.
• Handle correspondence related to security operations.
• Maintain records and files related to visitor entries, security incidents, and departmental documentation.
• Ensure proper documentation of security activities and reporting.

4. Floor Monitoring & Patrol

• Ensure proper ground floor management and prevent overcrowding of visitors.
• Conduct regular patrols on the ground floor and other designated areas to detect unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
• Monitor the movement of visitors, patients, and staff within the hospital.
• Ensure medical representatives or unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas without permission.

5. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure that security procedures comply with hospital policies and regulations.
• Monitor baggage checking procedures at security desks.
• Ensure that consulting rooms and floor exit doors are locked during non-working hours.
• Ensure electrical appliances and electronic devices are switched off when not in use.
• Ensure water taps in consulting rooms or other areas are turned off when not required.

6. Emergency Preparedness

• Be aware of all hospital Emergency Codes as part of orientation training.
• Assist in organizing and conducting mock drills and security training sessions.
• Support evacuation procedures during emergencies and guide people to designated safe points.
• Report any security incidents, breaches, or suspicious activities to the Security Shift In-Charge immediately.

7. Discipline & Environment Management

• Ensure security staff maintain a neat and clean uniform while on duty.
• Maintain a calm environment by ensuring noise levels are controlled in patient care areas.
• Prevent overcrowding or gathering of visitors on hospital floors.
• Report any unclean areas immediately to the housekeeping or maintenance department.

8. Training & Development

• Participate in training programs and debriefing sessions organized by the hospital or security agency.
• Assist in coordinating security drills and training sessions for security personnel.
