Structural Steel Engineer

Bhagwati Construction is looking for an experienced Structural Steel Engineer for our Western Railway infrastructure project in Mumbai.

The candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating structural steel fabrication, erection, welding, bolting and installation activities while ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements and site safety procedures.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise structural steel fabrication and erection activities at the railway construction site.
2. Review structural drawings, fabrication drawings, shop drawings and erection plans.
3. Monitor fabrication of steel sections, trusses, frames, plates, stiffeners and other steel components.
4. Ensure proper welding, bolting, alignment, levelling and installation of structural members.
5. Coordinate with fabrication contractors, suppliers, crane operators and erection teams.
6. Inspect fabricated steel components for dimensional accuracy and workmanship.
7. Verify material quantities, theoretical weights and executed work measurements.
8. Monitor daily site progress and prepare execution reports.
9. Ensure compliance with approved quality standards, drawings and technical specifications.
10. Coordinate inspections and approvals with Railway engineers and project management.
11. Implement safety precautions for lifting operations, working at height and working near operational railway lines.

• Required Qualifications & SkillsB.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil/Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in structural steel fabrication and erection.
• Experience in railway, bridge, industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of structural drawings and steel fabrication processes.
• Knowledge of welding, bolting, erection sequences and crane operations.
• Ability to manage fabrication teams and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel preferred.
• Experience working near operational railway tracks will be an advantage.

Preferred: Candidates who have previously worked on Indian Railways, MRVC, Metro or major infrastructure projects.
