About the Role
Batangarh is looking for a Freelance Investigative Journalist to uncover important stories through ground reporting, research, credible sources and fact-checking.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct investigative research on newsworthy and public-interest issues.
* Perform ground reporting and collect facts, documents and evidence.
* Build and maintain credible local sources and contacts.
* Conduct interviews and verify information from multiple sources.
* Investigate leads related to scams, corruption, irregularities and public issues.
* Prepare well-researched reports and story briefs for the editorial team.
* Maintain source confidentiality and follow responsible journalism practices.
Requirements
* Experience in investigative/ground/news reporting preferred.
* Strong research, fact-checking and interviewing skills.
* Good Hindi communication and writing skills.
* Strong local knowledge and source network in MP, Rajasthan, UP or Delhi.
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
