Furniture Designer (AUTOCAD 2D/3D)

We are hiring a Mid-Level AutoCAD Designer (2D/3D - Modular & Loose Furniture) with 2 to 5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will design both modular systems (like kitchens, wardrobes, and workstations) and loose furniture (like tables, beds, and chairs). You will create detailed shop drawings, 3D models, and cutting lists that our factory floor can immediately use for production.

Job Summary

The Mid-Level AutoCAD Furniture Designer will handle the technical drafting for both mass-produced modular units and custom loose furniture pieces. With 2 to 5 years of industry experience, you will take sketches or architectural briefs and turn them into perfect 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models. Your work will directly guide our woodcutters, CNC operators, and assembly teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft 2D shop drawings including precise floor plans, elevations, cross-sections, and detailed views for modular units and loose furniture.
• Build 3D models to visualize assembly, check clearances, and ensure structural stability.
• Design smart modular systems ensuring proper panel sizes, edge-banding alignments, and standard hardware boring holes.
• Detail loose furniture joinery like mortise-and-tenon, dowels, and hardware fittings for solid wood and panel materials.
• Generate accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and detailed cutting lists to minimize material waste (MDF, plywood, hardware, and laminates).
• Coordinate with the factory floor and CNC programmers to resolve any technical issues or dimension mismatches before production begins.
• Revise drawings quickly based on client feedback, site measurements, or production constraints.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 2 to 5 years of proven experience in furniture drafting, specifically handling both modular systems and loose furniture.
• Software: Mastery of AutoCAD (2D & 3D) is mandatory.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of furniture materials (particleboard, MDF, plywood, solid wood, laminates, and veneers) and modern hardware (Blum, Hettich, etc.).
• Site Awareness: Ability to understand site measurement variations and incorporate them into modular designs.
• Precision & Accuracy: Sharp eye for detail to ensure zero errors in millimeter-level dimensions and cutting lists.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with specialized cabinet/modular software like IMOS, Cabinet Vision, SolidWorks, or SketchUp.

Diploma or Degree in Woodworking Technology, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or Mechanical Engineering.
